Yes, i did notice that as well. I think i mentioned it in the video. However, it doesn't really bother me because the glasses can tilt to different angles.

Not many youtubers tell you exactly what the beam is for, could you tell me what exactly i could use it for in terms of entertainment, since there's no apps like netflix, the different display types is cool but without being able to stream netflix it seems like there's not much use for it. Also the screen over 300 inches is that true?

You should get an update later today that will allow you to watch Netflix... you can also watch my last xreal video where i show netflix, prime, youtube on it.

Netflix and Amazon prime are now there and you can load media onto the Beam but, depending on the file type you might not get sound on those files.@@danjb8406

No beam connection, everything is running off my phone in dex mode so i can keep my phone screen off.

@@KingKola_ Thanks for the reply. I am getting my air2 pros soon and was thinking to taking it outside like you for nav walking, and wanted the display on the side. So with the dex, you could put the picture to the side? Is that w nebulla android? if you have a pic or short vid, that'd be great. I saw Katsuya was able to put multimonitor to move them with some shortcut app, just didn't know u could do taht to move nav app to the side with dex. I have a mac, so can't use dex, so don't really know the dex experience. Thanks

The v2 are an upgrade in all aspects, but the field of view. Its definitely a smaller field of view, i tested the v1 and v2. The field of view is maybe 43 degrees, compared to thr 46 degrees of the first gen. It will crop/blur the image right left and bottom. Some people cant notice it as much, because their eyes are closer together than the average person. Its also something common with people in china (where the glasses are designed). Which is why i believe xreal didnt notice the problem. They were testing it on people with smaller eye distance than the average person. This is why a bigger field of view is always better than a smaller field of view. The v2 are not 46 degrees field of view, they are maybe like 43 degrees, which makes the image more blurry for most people. Xreal wanted to cut cost, but in the end its making them lose customers. There are more negative complaints about the glasses on amazon and reddit, than positive ones.

Seems better, but i'll be honest the colors on the first one was adequate for me. I don't do anymore that requires precise colors. Also, something to note. The first verson looked different on two of my computers, colors seem more accurate on my Microsoft laptop studio compared to m hp.

Hi, chellur. We adopted the color calibration algorithm on the new Air 2 series glasses, which ensures a better display performance.

I don't use prescription, so it's hard to say, but from what i've heard from other who do, it works very well. The included prescription lenses can easily to adjusted to your eyes.

I wear prescription glasses with my Xreal air 2 and they do work but not very well. It largely depends on the thickness of your lenses and the design of your frames. And there may be a danger of scratching them on the air 2's lenses. The blank lenses that come with the air 2 are to be given to an optician to reglaze in your particular prescription. This varies in price. In the UK it is £95 plus. I have ordered a pair only because I know with the Quest 2 and Pico 4 they do make a world of difference in viewing quality. I hope the air 2's will be as good. IMHO the Beam needs a lot of work. In the UK you cannot install the nebula app even sideloading. It is slow and that curser drives me mad. To an observer, I can be seen waving my arms around in a huge arc trying the get the thing in the right place, very frustrating. I see reviews stating a 330-inch screen!!! Where? I get a screen that is similar to my monitor if it were placed just in front of me. And that is about 120 and it does not feel as if you have a massive TV in your lounge. So far, I can only see this to be of use for travelling. And they do stand out, they are not like regular sunglasses. One day they will but not today. I have until the end of January 2024 to play around with these but unless the forthcoming lenses do make a world of difference, they will be going back.

I don't use the beam. I only use my phone in dex mode that way my phone screen can be off. If you're gonna do that, i recommend changing the wallpaper of your samsung dex to solid black that way you can see through it.

Pondering if I should get the xreal air 2 or just buy the original xreal air 2nd hand as for what I understood the upgrades are minimal except for the brightness being a bit higher... Will the original xreal air be bright enough to do that navigation thing you did outdoors? I would love to use that setup on my motorcycle just to be able to keep my eyes on the road instead of having to keep looking down at my navigation screen..

@adarshr8670 yes its bright enough, however it might not give as pleasant of an experience on a motorcycle because at that speed the mind will be blowing in your eyes, unless you wear a full face helmet with wind shield over it. My ebike only goes up to 40mph.

@@KingKola_ 40 mph is wild fast. Most class 2 max out at 28 mph. Seems you have more of an electric moped at those speeds.

Great question, but yes you do need to answer it via your phone or smartwatch is you have one, then you can talk normally through the glasses. Audio quality is quite good for calls.

i got the xreal 2 from amazon and tested/compared it with the xreal 1. The xreal 1 have a bigger field of view, its beyond obvious and the right and left side of the image is very blurry, its impossible to focus on the whole image. Why didn't xreal use the same size field of view, it would have made these glasses a much better experience than the xreal 1. But the viewing angle makes these glasses unusable. Its a shame, because the colors are better, the brightness is better, the sound is better and the glasses are made with better materials. I have no idea how the testing team didnt notice how blurry the image is, because of the smaller field of view. I hope they fix this issue with the next batch, its 100% necessary to fix this issue. It will make them lose so many sales, because people will be returning the glasses, because the image will hurt their eyes. Im returning the xreal v2 now and i will keep the xreal v1, until they make an upgrade with the same field of view.

For me, it absolutely is. Unfortunately! Planning to return the air 2 pros and keep the 1s. I hope Kola will comment on this 😊

@@kooldude2ful Seen so many reviews confirming the same! Bought an xreal 1 a few days ago because of it.. Bought myself a viture usb c adapter for my steam deck and waiting for the beam to go cheap so I can connect the deck to it and charge both the deck and the beam at the same time (hopefully). Prescription lenses arriving this weekend too.. Even though I bought the xreal 1’s for £240 new via Amazon, all these bills are building up. My serious worry, the air 2 ultra’s will have the same issue as the 2’s with the blurred edges (although better fov app).. Feels like they might be setting themselves up to fail

Colors seem better calibrated on the Air 2. On paper, the Air 2s are better as far as display, but honestly, there is not much noticeable difference as far as sharpness.

It all depends. I mention what's different about the new ones in the video. So if the changes are big enough for you, yes, if not then no.

I have the rokid max, and i hate having the that on it as it makes the edges more blurry and easily makes the glasses go out of focus. This experience seems common as many youtbubers have said the same thing, even those who ware glasses. However if they can fix that, it'll be quite nice to have.

Yes, i did notice that as well. I think i mentioned it in the video, however it doesn't really bother me because the glasses can tilt to different angles. Plus if you are using them in spatial mode you won't notice at all.

@@KingKola_ but in screen mirroring, are the xreal version 1 a lot less blurry and more visible, than the version 2? Like the edges and the image. Because most people use them for mirroring and not with the xreal beam. So if the mirroring experience with the version 2, is worse than the version 1, this means that its basically a downgrade when it comes to imagine clarity while screen mirroring.

@@XREAl_Tech_Support well what can you do if i have a wide IPD? Do you have different versions of the xreal air 2? Because people have been complaining about them being more blurry around all edges, than the version 1. The viewing lens itself is said to be smaller, even though its adversed as having the same field of view as the xreal air version 1.

@@Gurule its amazing technology, but here is my advice. The arms in the v1 are known to crack near where the height adjustment is. You might need to use tape or shrink wrap to prevent that (you can google search the issue). Also, this is very important. Never put it on maximum brightness in video games. These are OLED they will cause a permanent damage burn in effect on the screen. If you watch movies, than you can put it on full brightness. However, if you play games, reduce the brightness by 3 notches. I tested this and it causes burn in on the 3 highest brightness settings. Trust me, you need to do this or you will damage your glasses. This is only for games or editing type of computer work, because if there is any static images on screen for a long period of time, it will cause burn in at any of the top 3 levels of brightness. This is the problem with oled screens, but the glasses are game changer when it comes to gaming, especially on handheld pc.

The glasses and accessories combined is 500, if you spent a grand you were had.

You should've done some research, or at least watch some videos before purchasing. Chances are its user error if you couldn't get anything to work. I have videos on how to connect to some of the most common devices.
