Think about it. Gagarin was the first man in space. I can't explain the phenomenal achievement of this man. Infinitesimally deep space, he was the first human to experience it fully. I'll give ultimate credit to Laika the dog. She and Gagarin are out there right now enjoying the infinite galaxies.

He angered bresnev by forcing him to reveal the death of yuri's mentor in failed spacecraft....he and komarov had complained about200 issues...was ignroed..(4 soyuz rockets had exploded before this launch)...was pressured by military to go anyway....craft had elec issues...couldn't charge batteries, solar panels not extended...he managed to return to earth but crashed at 600 mph, no parachute because dead batteries couldn't pop it...yuri gathered his friends body parts, buried in urn in wall at kremlin...since bresnev embarassed....they let yuri fly after 7 years no flying...it crashed...probably like ukraine fighter who angered putee baby....his plane crashed..no balcony for him..
