Since the breakup, Kandi has become a sought after Grammy-winning songwriter and successful entrepreneur, but is she ready to share the spotlight again? Putting her music on hold to make family her number one priority, Tiny is keen on relaunching herself in the industry, but just as her music career is on the rise her marriage is tested. @@pepelishis They said that Tocha was acting uninterested in singing and touring with the group, the first time, when SHE KNEW she was shopping for (had) a deal for a solo career, but she wasn't forth coming with them. Kandi said that they heard about it from others, but when they asked her about it, she said, "I'm not now, but if (or when) I decide to, I'll let y'all know". From my understanding, she came back shortly after that and told them that she was going solo and that Tamika and Tiny could "keep having babies" and Kandi should "pursue her little modeling thing". She pretty much made the same kind of sneaky moves then that she's making now. The difference between then and now is, back then, Tocha wanted the group to "hold off" while she pursued her solo act, whereas now, the remaining 3 members have decided to move forward without her. I'd say that she broke the group up the first time and would've succeeded again if the ladies wouldn't have decided to go on without her.

Kandi has had no success a a solo artist her writing got her the Grammy cause her solo projects were not good. Although I was riding . Tiny's interview with Vlad about how the group broke up is similar to Kandi's story. Tiny says BEFORE they recorded the third album, Tocha told the girls she wanted to go solo and didn't even want to record the third album with them. Tocha only recorded the album just to fulfil the contract obligations. As soon as their label found out Tocha was only going to record the album and then leave to go solo, the label didn't want to promote the album knowing that Tocha was not going to stay in the group. They were even supposed to shoot a video for Softest Place on Earth but Tocha was already gone and the group had broken up before that could happen.

I love them all but Tocha is lying.... I'm remembering that Unsung moment where all three of the other girls spoke about how she bragged on them cause she was going solo.... And she even dissed her own sister saying that Tamika can probably go and make a bunch a kids now that she has more time on her hands.... She needs to own it.... Say sorry so the group can move on.... I don't like how she tries to be the boss... Cause no matter how pushy Kandi is, she has some good points when it comesto set list ideas and stuff and Tocha rubs me the wrong way when she took it upon herself soley to do the set list and all the other stuff.... Kandi is a business woman (Taurus). That means she knows about strategy and risk assessment. She peeped the label's strategy from a mile and knew that, businesswise, she would be at risk and spoke up against it. What I take from Kandi's recollection is that the label was willing to invest more into Tocha's solo career than keeping XSCAPE a viable entity. I believe Kandi didn't care if LaTocha wanted to leave the group to go solo or to go bake brownies. She just wanted the XSCAPE entity to remain standing on its own by not focusing their third album on a member who'd already made plans to leave prior to recording it.

If LaTocha didn't discuss with everyone in the group about going solo, then yes, she is the problem and the reason the group broke up. As she later learned, it takes more than talent to be wildly successful. Most ppl know who Kandi and Tiny are but not so much the Scott sisters.🤷🏽‍♀️

They had about 7 major hits, Just Kickin' It, Understanding, Feels So Good, Who Can I Run To, The Arms of The One Who Loves You, Do You Want To, & My Little Secret. Out of all 7 songs, Kandi sang on 4 and led 3 (Just Kickin It, Feels So Good, and My Little Secret). At the end of the day, Tocha had her chance to go solo, and it flopped. They tried to revive the group even adding a 4th member to replace Kandi and it flopped. Tocha appeared on the Song"Thug Holiday" with Trick Daddy, and on a season of R&B Divas. Tamika did Broadway plays, and played in Tyler Perry's stage play, Meet The Browns. Yes, they can sing but are the least successful. In fact, they need this more than anyone. Furthermore, Tocha is broke, and the least successful. Facts are facts. Kandi & Tiny even won a Grammy for writing No Scrubs. You can make excuses until you blue in the face but the fact still remains that they need Kandi more than she needs them. You can say all you want about her voice but in 20 years where has it gotten her? Answer: Broke and Bitter AF.

I think Latocha feels she has the best voice so she should’ve been the most successful out the group. People probably pumped her head into thinking she was better and bigger than the group. So, when kandi ended up surpassing everyone when the group split she felt a little jealous. That jealousy then turned into bitterness. But, I don’t think it really is about Kandi it’s Latocha projecting her insecurities onto everyone. I’ve met plenty of “why them and not me!?” people and I believe Latocha is one of those. All you can really do is pray for her. Her gospel single is good, so I hope she reaches new heights and accomplishes all that she desires. Maybe then she can let go of that hurt/bitterness.

And look what’s happening right now. Latocha I am looking at you sideways. When Tocha said, “Kandi, you always thought you were all that”, tells me that Tocha has felt someway about Kandi. She has always harbored ill-will and jealousy towards her. Kandi has always been the prettiest one in that group to me. Tocha has a powerhouse voice and has a beautiful face as well, but she isn’t being honest with us about what she is doing. There is no ownership on her end and dishonesty. Her sister even sees through her bullshit this time around.
