Good review, like the idea with the leg position holders. I'm going to use the idea my self, so thanks. The rotary unit looks really good and with a chuck as well.

really nice as always Jim have you thought of showing some laser engraving and cutting out work on acrylic sheet as well ? Not that familiar with laser engraving or cutting but very keen to see what's possible i'm interested in making tokens for tabletop games with some engraving and cutting out cheers ;)

Thank you very much. I have not tried cutting acrylic yet but I know diode lasers will only cut certain colours. Black apparently cuts very well and clear not at all.

honestly jim those eyeball keyrings are superb, i run a small airsoft tech business via facebook and have so many ideas to use a laser with so im about to make a purchase and with so many out there its bloody hard to make a decision , i remember when apple first launched the iPod i went the other way and bought some other brand and after a couple of years it was obvious that apple was about to take over so i think this is the case with xtool range of lasers, i was about to purchase the atezr p20 or go for the v35 which is coming but there's so many people saying there delivery is crap and as soon as you put in the price for uk customs and vat it will work out just the same as the xtool which i can get in 48hrs via there new uk hub so i think im going to join the xtool community, great video and keep them coming

Thanks Adam, I must check out your airsoft page. I am not into airsoft but I love air rifle target shooting. I make a lot of my own custom stocks and other components. I use my XTool almost daily at the moment and can highly recommend it. They have some new laser safety kit coming out soon which I will hopefully be reviewing. I think XTool are establishing a very good laser “ecosystem “ and there is a growing forum/community evolving. The fact it now links with Lightburn is also fantastic although I tend to use the XTool software for the rotary attachment.

What settings did you use for the glass engraving?

For engraving glass with simple designs and lettering I use 30-40mm/s at 100%, for engraving pictures I use 30mm/s with max 100% min 20%. I have now started using black Plastidip spray paint prior to engraving because most of it just peels off afterwards requiring less solvent. Many thanks for watching

What laptop is best to run this laser???

You would be best to check on the XTool website, I don’t think you need a very powerful laptop to run the laser but I am not sure what you need to run the design software. I use a Macbook Pro.
