frame geometry is different between every bike, but short: you slow the steering down by raking the head angle forward, like a chopper. opposite by bringing the front wheel closer to the frame , you will get a quick turning bike wich can be unstable at high speed. my experience CRF 450 2015 - 22mm offset (22 degree angle from front wheel axel to steering stem) = stable bike , but less easy to turn. 20mm offset= easy to turn, less stable bike at high speed.
