Trust me, her interpretation of this traditional piece is superior to most if not all other versions, even those played by traditional instruments. She really understands the essence of music. Most pieces she played and I had watched on youtube are soulful and transcending.
Very creative arrangement. In particular, the polyphonic part captures the message in the original piece: a conversation between a fisherman and a woodcutter.
@@lil_weasel219 I know, but I was thinking how many contact points Spanish and Chinese cultures have, and to what extent muslim influence in medieval times may have played a main role in those contacts.
A real treat to listen to! A very visual piece for me as it conjures up all kinds of scenes, mostly those associated with a simpler way of life, by the sea or working in the fields. GD
I'VE BEEN READING ABOUT YOU XUEFEI! I UNDERSTAND THAT ONE OF MY HEROES, JOHN WILLIAMS, SAW YOU PLAY WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG AND WAS VERY IMPRESSED. EASY TO SEE WHY! I AM INSPIRED WITH YOUR LEVEL OF SKILL, AND MORE THAN THAT, YOUR PLAYING IS BEAUTIFUL, THE SPIRIT YOU PLAY WITH IS BEAUTIFUL, AND YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL LADY. I ALSO LIKE TO PLAY AT A NATURE WATER SCENE, SO I CAN REALLY RELATE TO HOW TRANQUIL YOU MUST FEEL DURING THIS PERFORMANCE. HAPPY PLAYING XUEFEI!
I have a very special question regarding the mix of classical guitar technic with traditional Chinese music, but to another piece: Could you please explain how do you achieve the effect of tan tyan on a pipa playing Yi Dance - it looks like a tremolo, but sounds like tan tyan or a mix of tremolo and rasgeado, being very clean at the same time? Thank you very much in advance!
Beautiful the 4... The landscape, The piece, the guitar and specialty you. I really like ancient Chinese music and you did a good job arranging this piece for the guitar and a excellent interpretation of your arrangement, I'd like to study the score for this piece, I want to buy it, where I can find it? My pleasure to hear this
