Xul seems fricking awesome. I've always enjoyed playing the Heroes that are strong at laning like Zagara, Azmodan and Gazlowe. Xul seems a great fit. Videos about Xul... Coming as soon as possible. ^__^
no. and we don't need cain he will have to be squishier than the slug, and he should just be the only character in the game with a mic to be able to tell stories. Leroy would have to lead the team to death, if he doesn't he wouldn't be Leroy. Therefore both are not possible for this game, where you want to win.

My god the amount of D2 nostalgia is just too much in this video. From the music to the icon for his cursed strike that is the same as the Weaken curse from D2. It's so awesome, love it
Scythe looks hard to land. And his viability will depend on a lot of factors. Base health, base attack, skeletal mage health, etc:. But that poison nova looks disgustingly strong.
Dibbin There wasn't a necromancer in Diablo 2 that didn't spec Blood Golem first chance they got. But now that they brought him in, I'm hoping they add Druid!
Nimeron fühn Who cares? It was the necromancer's most popular summon in the whole game, and instead they make him summon skeletons. There was a reason you could summon 50 skeletons in Diablo 2 - They died like canon fodder!
+Nyrufa Pfff Necro is all about bone spirit, bone wall and iron maiden. I'm a pvper though. The only character that can touch me 1v1 is bowazon. Blood golem is probably better at mindlessly grinding out mobs tho zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
i feel there there should be a game completely revolving around Xul, and i didn't know his name was that. The necromancer was my favorite class in diablo 2. If i understand this guy correctly.
This is the only hero I have wanted for the entirety of this game's existence. Diablo 2 Necro, reborn. My body is so ready. I had many goosebumps and feels when that track came on around the 3min mark. Thank you Blizz for making me a happy nerd.
really curious what the cooldowns of his bone armour and heroics is going to be, but bone armour exploding to do 15% damage to enemy heroes health sounds really OP
Yesssssss. We needed the necromancer. That was by far the coolest DII character. we just needed him. Now just add mephisto and i'll be very happy. And the assasin too. The charge system could be a very fun trait to have.
+paleface171 I still have my hard drive with my Assassin, Amazon and a host of old saves from games like Morrowind.. I just can't play D2 anymore, it feels so much slower..
really wish they had the snare be some kind of skill shot. really eager to play this hero, but it kinda gets me when games make hard CC abilities like this that are auto target
+ZeusKnocksYouOut Well they made it have a delay for a reason + its only a snare unlike lets just say bright wing's polymorph which is targeted has no delay and is a hard CC. Also thematically it makes sense for it to be point and click because well that's how it worked in D2(it was a line in that but its still a point and click skill).
That's cool that they got the original Necromancer voice actor (Michael McConnohie) for him in this game. It makes me wonder if they are going to have him do Kel'thuzad as well, though, considering the two characters have similar tones.
+ScorchHellfire tbh this verison of the necromancer sounds far more like Kel'thuzad as a necromancer then the original d2 necromancer hes based off. Since i remember the d2 necro having a lighter tone. a mix between what he did for kel'thuzad and what he did for Uther
***** I did not find whatever website your referring to, but explain to me how they have these statistics when no one even knows the amount of active players in hots. There is simply no way this is true, as I could probably name 20 multiplayer games easily more popular than hots I prefer to use google trends which gives a good idea of popularity. Hots is a pretty small game compared to all the others there are.
They cast Michael McConnohie as Xul, but he was also the original voice of Kel'Thuzad, so now my brain keeps wanting to call this necromancer Kel'Thuzad!
+nordic fatcheese Plus the 20 Talent for Skeletal Mages turns killed enemy heroes into Skeleton Mages for you that I assume aren't part of the six Warrior cap.
+nordic fatcheese 4 baseline, 2 with talent levle 16 talent, 2 more with another talent(summoned on cast of bone prison), + 4 skeletal mages + mage when heroes die. it's possible to get a large army, not easy talents to also have them explode on death
Its amazing to see that Blizzard still hasn't forgotten about Diablo II's Necromancer :,) i remember being 12 years old back in 2006 and playing with my lvl 80 Necromancer, the good ol days...
+SangoProductions213 At least you'll have at least one for that skill. If it's on different tiers there's probably going to be better options for other skills you'd like to take.
+adradox We don't know that! Who knows maybe you can get talents and get golems instead of skeleton, maybe your scythe can be upgraded to be a spear instead.
+Kane Quaglietta The full talent list has been released, he can pick bone spear as a lvl 20 talent, as other commenters have pointed out. But no golems sadly :(
As a Li-Ming player, this guy looks like a very nice counterpick. Summoned minions to frustrate her skill shots, root to keep her from teleporting away...yeah. Nice synergy with Lunara with the poison, too. That's in addition to the obvious AA counters. This might be the first spec I play heavily other than Sylvanas (although I still try to improve at Zagara on occasion).
im not going to lie, the more heros this game has the better it gets so please keep adding heros fast for a little bit. I was kinda meh at this game a first but since it has nice variety its getting a lot better.
+Darius von Liechtenstein Looks like they do Area damage though, everything was slowed including rehgar, I don't think it will be a problem, their damage looks lack luster though. Probably wont be picked often.
can we pause for a second and notice how, at its core, Xul's Trait is essentially Sylvannas' Possesion heroic. as if that Heroic wasnt obsolete enough. also interested in seeing how Cursed Strike works as i feel it could be a bit too harsh to AA heroes: as in is it a duration or a number of attacks?
Yes! I've been waiting for when they would touch upon the older characters, the ones WITHOUT 3D models. The Necromancer looks cool! Cant wait to play him.
Skeletal mages seem very weak. Although maybe the slow is substantial? Either way, kinda bummed that he doesn't really embody the D2 caster necro, but I still love the kit and prefer Melee anyways.
+Jacob Taylor most of his skills are nice ya, bone armor and prison and summon skeletons is great. I think I'll be using his poison nova ult, but somehow I don't think it will be as fast as a real poison-necro build :D and without bone spear the bone-necro is lacking. I wish they had revive or summon golem even over the skeleton-mage's. Also, where is the most popular necro curse, Amplify Damage? I think he has a curse ability in HotS, but It only debuffs them in regards to him, so it's really move of a warcry then a curse.
+Kizer5Red - Bone Spear is a level 20 talent option. Although not sure if it's an extra mapped ability or some sort of Bone Armor upgrade/alteration. I'm very stoked for the Hero I just wish they made him purely D2, even if that meant making him ranged. Teeth on Q, Amplify Damage AoE debuff on his W, a clay golem on his E that could be upgraded to blood/iron thru talents. Another thing I'm very surprised about is his Bone Prison wasn't a Heroic ability and that it tracks and can't miss instead of being a skill-based ability.
+Indominous Snorlax His skeletons only last 15 seconds, and he can only have 4 until lvl 16 talent increasing the cap to 6 and increasing their damage by 100%. I find it uncomparable to possession as possessed minions last till death, and possession uses a charge system, so the number of possessed minions can be much higher in numbers. Additionally you can possess catapults and even captured mercs which, without knowing the damage numbers of skeletons, should in my guess out perform Xul's skeletons.
+sb1236 but ITS HIS PASSIVE. he still has an ult. he doesnt need charges, doesnt cost him mana to cast, it happens around him without having to think. so you know. his passive is as good as anothers ult.
yeah, I remember solo Duriel and Izual thanks to spamming the bones armor and the skeleton mages, glad they put these abilities it will remind me lots of good memories =)
+Tony Bjornson Might be a little too close to Greymane's release for another shapeshifter. Would be interesting to see it if they went more warrior with it and focused on bear form.
Xul looks fkn awesome. However it is kind of strange they went with a melee setup for him. The D2 necromancer I remember is in his classic black/white bone armor, casting spells like bone spear/bone spirit with his wand from ranged with a legion of skeletons around him. Either way i cant wait to try him.
Just got him today, he's so OP rofl. It's not impossible to kill him though, he has no good mobility and that can be a weakness to take advantage of. Very fun character to play.
