2013 Yamaha V Star XVS650 Custom with Vance and Hines Short Shots. Skip to 2:00 to hear engine start up & exhaust sound. Exhaust and mirrors are the only modifications on the bike. Everything else is stock.
On the 650 V-star, the engine gets kinda busy at highway speeds, so they 're going to get loud, no doubt. I'm thinking they'd be better on a larger cruiser that keeps the revs down at higher speeds. That holds true for any loud pipes I guess.
Hey mate, I didn't rejet the carbs. Had the bike for three years now and it hasn't skipped a beat to be honest really good bike. I've read different things about whether you should do it or not but as I said I didn't and I haven't had any issues.
Just keep an eye on your spark plugs. If they are white than you will need to go up to the next size main jet in both carbs. If your plugs are brown to darker then all is ok. The jet in the back cylinder carb is bigger than the jet in the front cylinder carb. Good video and a nice sound.
Awesome,I also have a Dragstar 650 :D recently got it,don't have VH but it's got custom pipes on it,they sound pretty good :D ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XymYaZxFv-Y.html if u wanna see mine although from the vid can't rly make how loud they are but that might be just me cuz my 1st bike was a Virago 250 with stock pipes XD Yours looks and sounds amazing wow
