Thank you very much for this spotlight!! One thing that was not shown in the video is that if you look at the rear of Meiolania while attacking, it will attack with its tail, and it can harvest rocks and sand! I also made an update that changed the aggro, it is now considered a medium creature and not a large one. Then burried, Meiolania takes reduced damages, and creatures tend to ignore it when not aggro (as we can see in the video when the Acro stops attacking). Also, Meiolania is now available on Aberration!
I remember taming my first one (found a 150 and it took forever haha) and I lived in the swamp by the ocean and was super surprised to see it harvest stone! Single-handedly saved me getting a doed as it built my stone base to protect me from crocs
@@emiliotodd6733 Yes it is indeed useful, in my own game I have one that I keep burried near rocks so that I can come back when I need some stone. When burried most creatures just ignore it
@@Xyphias_ I actually recently used it to tame some Evo gigas by just burying and feeding it Wyvern milk (for the moment I mount it before burying) and the odd veggie cake and health portion (from dragon kingdom)
I know it’s a hot take but I don’t think there’s anything wrong about having a knockout tame. It’s straight forward and not every creature need a super unique taming mechanic. Other than that, this is a sick turtle. Can’t wait to try it out!
Yeah, when the Brachi came out I thought it was awesome but now after everything is getting a special method it is so annoying. Like the arco and carcar are some of the worst. trying to keep and area clear is so annoying for an acro. I don't know how many times I've been killed by a terror bird, raptor, wolf, ect while trying to tame an acro because of respawns.
Honestly same, especially for creatures that can be found in early-game zones as well. I really do enjoy the complex tames (when they work) although some are just completely unnecessary, like Troodon and Armagasaurus. But every now and then, a good ol' knockout is very much welcomed
I forgot to also mention especially with the community voted creatures that supposed to be early game as well. If they also have a complex tame to them, it only makes it harder for new people to come into the game as well. Sure there’s RU-vid but how many creatures in the base game that have a complex tame that you might have to search up for (assuming you already know it’s tameable) versus a straightforward tame
Thank you for the spotlight, Becca❤️. This is my favorite Xyphias creature so far. It’s not broken, the mortar thing looks really fun, and it cannot hit things right on top of it. Honestly, I love this guy. A bit too exaggerated for my tastes, but I wouldn’t mind seeing him on Ragnarok or crystal isles. The shield and wall mount are the metaphorical ribbon to tie it all together. Really solid creature, and a great spotlight
I adored this mod when i played with it on the center, the aiming was jank at the time, but Xyphias was super nice about it. I was probably just skill issuing
The motar's fire rate has a similar feel to the Minecraft bow before it was changed to have a charge attack that determined the range and damage it did.
I know i already left a comment but I like what you were talking about at 6:46 how the exaggerated look fits well with ark. Then again my monkey brain sees big spikey turtle and every neuron activates. The only one im not big on is actually the Anky. I feel like it could use a big touch up
I entirely agree! I like seeing the occasional exaggerated dino, and Xyphias really hit that ARK vibe with this guy And also agreed about the Anky - PaleoARK are currently in the process of making a TLC for it. The model is done, we're just waiting on animation ^^ soon!
I had seen this creature some time ago, but I think the option of consecutive shots is a bit ridiculous, personally I would prefer 1 single powerful shot than a shower of shots. Great video Rebecca! 👍🏽
@@Xyphias_ that could be added as a config maybe ?, idk i know nothing about modding haha , great work tho , i love this bug chunky air strike turtle xD
"Like a turtle should be, it is quite slow..." DarkEdge, look up one video on a softshell turtle and let me know what you think of that? 😂😂😂 (P.S. am saying this not knowing if you have already ^^")
I am a loving this trend I'm seeing! I think they should put this in the official game as a halfway point between regular saddles and tek. "Battle" or "industrial" saddles. Some kind of saddle with a gun or engine on it.
Yeessss agreed! It's been fun seeing these more modern saddles, as you said a halfway point between regular and TEK :D I don't think every dino needs it, but some could do with it for sure. Imagine some of the classic herbivores kitted out with gear
