Smart move to be able to plan things out in relation to what's actually on the land versus a map which can be off and is missing details like what walls, large rocks, tree's, shrubs are there etc. Also how did you get it dimensionally accurate so you could measure on the model or does WebODM do this automatically? Did you do any physical measurements to verify the 3D map is accurate?
Hello David. The images made by the drone are geotagged. So every image 'knows' its Location. In this iteration of the 3d midel it uses only GPS data of the images. Next time i will add RTK to increase the precision. WebODM uses that georeference data within the images as well visible matches to stitch the images together to create either the 3d model or the orthographic image. I have not yet done physical measurements. I did walk the area and were counting my steps. I will verify the precision of the Model with the real world at some point.
