Yaesu FT-101B; How to realign RX and TX 

I just bought a FT-101 EE and did the alignment as you described. EZZZZ and took me all of 10 minutes including running back and fourth from my home office to the shack. Thanks Jerry KK6YO. Now how to get the HUMMM Out of transmit :-)

I have done this on the B,E and EE versions of this radio and it works on all as long as there are no other problems with the rig! Just remember to use a dummy load when transmitting, even with the heater off.

I have the ft101b radio thanks for the realign.My rig now sounds a lot better since reading your instructions.It works a lot better on TX RX sounds good on my receiver.Lots of blokes where saying I was off frequency. Excellent video. I followed it along and successfully realigned my FT101E which was transmitting 90 cycles lower than receive frequency. FB. 73, Pat

I just did this on my 101E 1.) Make sure you have 6.00VDC on the blue wire. (volts pot beside zero) 2.) Make sure your clarifier knob has the exact amount of travel left and right (the 101E has an alignment dot all the way to the left) 3.) Now follow the alignment procedure: Turn rig on, set clarifier to "0", rig in PTT receive mode.Read clarifier voltage.Set clarifier to "off."Adjust VR4 on back of clarifier so that you see the same voltage as when the clarifier was set to "0."Make sure voltage is the same when you turn the clarifier between "0" and "off." Adjust again if necessary.Make sure heater switch is OFF, set rig to MOX.Now use the "zero" control on the top near the rear to set the clarifier voltage to the same value as you saw when the rig was in receive mode.

The 3.85 seems high, have you checked the VOLT ~ the variable right by the ZERO?

I have a FT101B, two problems one the receive is very low and two the s meter is not moving on receive. Please advise what could be the problem or what board is causing these two problems. Please help me??

Helps big time also if you don't Zero Beat the rig the WRONG way as you did in another video that you posted.That method will for sure get the dial out of alignment & you really should remove that misinformation from the web.

Does this also work on the 101 Z?

Hey when you aligned the TX and flipped the switch into MOX, am I correct in thinking that you did this with no carrier as to not damage the radio? Or would I need to have a dummy load to do this? My ft-101b I've got needs an alignment and your video is a great "how-to". Hopefully I'll catch you on the air sometime!

I am sorry to say that I do not have any hard copy of this procedure. It looks as if my video may have to stand on it's own. I suppose I could document the procedure. It really is simple and straightforward. If you need me to help you with it, I could guide you via Skype.

Capacitors do dry out which does funny things.

I heard if you lick some parts of the inside it will make you tingle. At least thats what Sam Adams told me. But hell he drank alot too so who knows.
