The cost of goods has little to do with employment.. producers charge what the market will bear. When you have full employment of prime worker age Americans , the consumers can and will spend money . The marketers will advise the producers to increase prices . The producers will follow the advice until consumers cut spending on pricey items and only buy sale items with historically low cost . Inflation is just gaslighting for ‘how much can we gouge without being accused of gouging ?’
