We have the New Predator 5000 Generator for the Workshop. Harbor Freight has some good deals and above average items sometimes. Generators are a dime-a-dozen in the industrial market with s few like the Honda generator. Having the ability to have power off grid is a major deal. Richard, Thanks for the video. I’m sure you already know this. But anyone planning on using this with gasoline, please Use Seafoam as an additive. From my experience it only adds insurance to keeping the fuel stable and less likely of gumming up the system. It thins out the gas and adds protection to the fuel lines. Otherwise, use propane when ever possible. Cheers! I’m not paid by Seafoam. lol I wish though. That would be awesome. I love their products.

I think its a great idea for you to Review different tools and equipment and share what you think about them, good or bad. You always explain the Why as to your view. Mark enjoys Harbor Freight also and has had good results in all his dealings with them. thanks for sharing with us Richard, you got your hands full with the sawmill doors. Hope you can get it moved before winter sets in so you can enjoy it over the winter. It sure does look better without them. The new Workshop area will be open face. I haven’t really used the doors much and seems like a waste. The new generator also has a remote start I forgot to mention.

Maybe you can do a review on a winch for your boom. I have a winch on mine and it's nice to drag the cable down in the woods and watch the log climb back up to the tractor.

I’m not sure. You need to find out how much wattage total you would be using at one time and choose generator from there. I didn’t need more than 2500 at one time. Generac makes one, and Westinghouse makes them and so on.

Two things that should be noted. The warranty for the Predator is one year unless you buy the extended warranty, where as the Westinghouse comes with a three year warranty. Second thing you should look into is where to get service when needed. These are the consideration you should look into before buying ether one.

I have both actually. Westinghouse and now Predator. Did any repairs my self. Hope not any in near future. Down time on repairs would mess up any schedule, lol

The 1 year only covers part of the generator, the full warranty’s only 90 days. You can add a 2 year extended for $310. I’d suggest people look into what the year warranty actually covers, while I don’t remember exactly I know it wasn’t a lot compared to the 90 day one.

No, I never by extended warranties on anything. Try to maintain what I have. Sometimes things break and have to be replaced. Good thing is they aren’t expensive.
