What is a vowel, and how are they different from consonants? The vowel is a letter sounded without the use of the lips, lower lip with upper teeth, closed teeth - hissing, tongue on the roof of the mouth, or gutteral stop in the throat. Only the shape of the mouth cavity is used. If we hear buzzing, hissing, clicking, or the tongue stops the air (as in the word "giggle," you are making the sound of a consonant. Okay so they spelled Jehovah Heavenly Father in Greek; However, pronounced it Yahuah. Remember Heavenly Father is Hebrew it doesn't matter what Greek and Latin have corrupted the Messiah name because they have transliterated wrong. Hovah means ruin and misfit. Absolutely not correct that Vav is a vowel in most cases and grammatical in the name of God it can't be a vowel because you can not begin a syllable with a vowel. Very easy to disprove this.

While I see many visitors here seeking honestly how to pronounce His name correctly, I believe we are missing the mark. Our Savior told us to address Him as "Father". The Jews during this time were not speaking His name because they felt it was too holy, but did Jesus scold them for it? No, instead He told them to address Him as "Father". Not once did Jesus scold anyone for wrong pronunciation, or ignoring His Father's Name. It's the meaning that matters, not the pronunciation. He is Yahweh. He is Elohim. He is Yeshua. He is Kurios. He is Jesus. Let us not overly focus on an argument that the New Testament itself doesn't overly focus on.

Thanks for this. I saw someone else's video who basically said that people who call His name Yahuah don't know Hebrew. He went through the rules of grammar in Hebrew and was very convincing, until he then said that the rules may have been different in the past and we can't know how to pronounce the Name. We have so many names of the personal Name of God and people like me are confused who is telling the truth. Good explanation grammatically correct and scholarly researched and yet we have not arrive to a conclusion unanimously but if you will believe what the prophet Zechariah says, quote, Zec 14:9 The LORD will be King over all the earth. I know you all are desperate to have answers. But I caution you as this man has no formal education in the Hebrew language. There are other serious concerns (please search for Lew White videos on the Messianics Hall of Shame channel and you can learn about his other business making profit on those in the world selling them drug paraphernalia, a video he proudly had made to promote his headshop ). Additionally, in now close to 2,000 Hebrew texts the name has been found with the vowel points. There is now physical evidence of the true name of the Father. These discoveries were made by Nehemia Gordon (and I am not suggesting you become a follower of his... I don't say that to discredit Nehemia at all, just saying that I'm endorsing the research and the findings as legitimately found in over 1700 Hebrew texts!) as opposed to some man who teaches internet Hebrew. Languages are very complex and have lots of nuances, and people telling you --who are not legitimate experts in a language what the rules are and what things mean etc, are not reputable sources for your information. Prove and test all things. Someone said the Name of Yahuah is too set-apart to be spoken aloud. The pope issued a bull in 2008 forbidding the utterance of the Name, claiming the prohibition was a "long-standing tradition," but used no Scripture to base the bull on. Karaites (such as the Masoretes who invented divergent vowels to misdirect) would be the first to agree. Tradition has ruled over the minds of men too long, so the times we are now living in are allowing wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to burst forth like a flood. Danial 12 is happening before our eyes. ZekarYah (Zechariah) 14:20 says the words "Qodesh L Yahuah" (set-apart to Yahuah) will be written on the bells of the horses and pots used for cooking. Where do we find the Name is too set-apart to be spoken, or only to be spoken at prescribed times? What better time to speak His Name than constantly? At this moment, there are Serafim speaking Yahuah's Name without stopping (see Rev. 4:8, YashaYahu 6:3). What man is able to tell them to stop, the pope?

You're promoting a false name. The name "Yahuah" doesn't exist in the real Hebrew language. Don't take the name of Hashem in vain as it will lead you straight to Gehenom forever, with no return during Olam Haba, The World To Come when Moshiach comes. Also, "Paleo-Hebrew" isn't a separate Language, it's a script/writing style which was used to write Hebrew before Aramaic Square Script was adopted. The only thing that is different from the Paleo Hebrew script compared to the Hebrew language is just the shape of the letters. Otherwise grammar rules and pronunciation are the same whether you're reading Square Script, or Paleo-Hebrew script. You're clearly dragging people to Gehenom with you.

From the Hebrew grammar alone without any theological nonsense it is obvious to anyone who passes Hebrew 102 that God’s Name carries His eternal nature: יהיה - yehyeh - He will be הוה - hoveh - He is היה - hayah - He was The Masoretes' main goal was NOT to cipher the Name (that would be the Name's blasphemous defiling on their part) but to PRESERVE the correct pronunciation for future generations. And they did preserve the vocalization for the Name which today every Tanakh published in Israel has, i.e. Yehovah יְהֹוָה

Its the Most logical explanation.. My bible is in a language descented from semitic languages.. It states the name as YAHU, pretty close to YAHUAH.. But see YeremiYAHU, EliYAHU, NetanYAHU, YAHUshua, .Jewish/YAHUda names have YAHU... So is the Name of Elohim/God YAHU or YaHUH?

We all know that the letter J never existed in Hebrew. In fact, it didn't even exist in English until the 1630s. The "waw" sound comes from Arabic. Most Hebrew speakers have pronounced the vav as a V for some centuries now. We don't have a recording of how people spoke in Bible times, but oral tradition was far more accurate than we give it credit for. The vowel markings were necessitated by centuries of persecution by the Greeks, the Romans and others. Such protracted persecution threatened the integrity and very existence of the Hebrew language. The Masoretes wanted to make sure that the pronunciation of the language wasn't completely lost. Their vowel markings had a definite purpose and were therefore not ambiguous. Please check out Nehemiaswall.com for in depth studies with plenty of source references. The man who runs this site is a Jewish Hebrew scholar who has put in the 10,000 hours and then some.
