I've been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, so I really can't go fishing as much as I would like to. Watching you and the rest of the gang makes me feel like I'm out there on the water. Thank you.
My dad is in the late stages of prostate cancer. We've never had the best relationship but fishing is one of the few things we connect on. Miss taking him out. Good luck on your battle, tight lines even if you can't get out there.
Man, I can't explain how appreciative I am of your comment. Amazing to know just putting out videos like this can be impactful on another level. Shoot me an email @JeffreyKB to gregblanchard17@gmail.com
haha, I am fortunate to have the gear/kayaks over the years that's accumulated. That said, I'd still be happy just going out there with a few rods and a box of tackle
Thanks Greg! Real glad I found your channel a year or so ago. I like your personality and how you interact with your friends and others. You also put out some dynamite information on a wide variety of topics from (of course) fishing, to kayaks, etc. etc. I’m hoping to eventually get a kayak and explore that whole adventure. Be well and thanks again….
Great day of fishing and ending your day in 4th position is a well deserved a hard fought day of some great fishing. The agonizing and deep heart wrenching feeling when you lose these epic fish will always be a part of the anglers life. You always bring it all to these tournaments through your video content and really appreciate I’m never let down from a Greg Blanchard video epic to the end. Tight lines take care and God bless, until the next one!
From south africa here and enjoy watching your vids. Been working the wacky rig lately but only dinks so far. Mainly love top water. All the best on your future tournaments.
You bet! Yep, just too many lost fish this year with the net job deals and figured with a buzzbait and big hook just boat flipping them would be good enough
Man oh man that cave has come a long way sir! I have watched you ever since I got on the kayak - and really see you living a great life and enjoying friends and fishing so much. Inspirational and real. You da man GB. the rest of the crew also! Chuck a few more big baits in the mix for us swimbait guys, please and thanks!
Thank you sir! For sure, the big bait collection is slowly building up but I know it's potential! I do think there will be a day where big baits will be a regular part of the arsenal and possibly some full days dedicated to them
Wow look at that spinner bait box 😮. I just remember when you found one Terminator hanging over a rock and that one was your second 😂phew how fast the time flies. 🔥🔥🔥🎣👌🏽
Ahh yes great coffee and Greg comin 4th in a tournament, great job Greg. Yeah was hopin to see the whole crew at this one. Hope everyone is doin good. Thanks for another awesome video Greg can't wait for the next one.
Learned a lot about fishing the low tide from you in this video. Thank you! I was in this tournament and struggled. I tried only punching hyacinth mats when the tide was low. Nothing worked for me. I passed so much exposed vegetation and never thought about punching it. I will next time! Great job
Yessir! I love punching those hyacinth mats too but those hydrilla mats are definitely a dark sleeper out there. problem is there is miles and miles of that stuff just about everywhere in the delta so the key is finding those productive areas
I always look forward to your videos! The music you use in your videos always makes for a peaceful morning...It has become a bit of a ritual for me to sit on the porch and enjoy breakfast while I watch!
Great yak a tee yak those were some fine bass in the weed mat. I'm sure one could fish the mat exclusively and have no shortage of fish. Killer video thanks😎
Why are you not following up on those missed topwater blow ups with a weightless worm or a Texas rig?!? At least 50% of the time that bass you missed will hit a weightless worm if you follow up. It makes a big difference in a tourney my friend. Despite being frustrated when watching that, I’m a big fan and I learn a lot from watching you in these yak tournaments. Keep it up!!
Back in the early 90’s I used to throw a white Buzz Bait with a little pork splittail eel from Uncle Josh for a trailer at potato slough off Highway 12 at Brannon island and catch 3-5 lb bass during the incoming tide. Have fun
most garages are full of weed eaters, rakes, hammers... your's? nah, not so much... !! lol. what an awesome garage.! congratulations on 4th place, it's hot as fire here in Georgia too!! tough all over...
You have to try the SPRO Flappin Frog 65 for the thick stuff. It is part buzz bait and part weed less frog. It excels in that stuff. I will send you some!
Next video challenge …. Go through those boxes and choose 5 of the weirdest ones and you can only fish those in your vid. Can’t leave until you catch a fish on all 5
Ive seen your work bench in other videos but did not know of all the rest. It was alot more than I realized. How long do you think you could go with out needing to buy another bait? minus new baits like cullshads your trying out.
36:56 Greg. I'm hoping that you have your garage Insurance up to date... Thinking how much money you have tied up there.. Thanks for wetting the board before measuring the bass 👍👍
Hey what’s up Greg if u keep your extra fluorocarbon in the refrigerator the line will last longer and not brittle after a while, sitting in the garage
I know you mentioned that you realized you were losing tension when reaching forward for the net. Have you tried having the net setup behind you? Gene Jenson sets his up behind and the tension issue was the exact reason he gave for that.
You ever try fishing bottom or deeper in the morning?!? Sometime I think bass are more likely to be in grass(shade) when the sun is high and out when they trying to get in the shade, I mean you will get your occasional bass. But I feel like morning are not that hot so I think your chance might be better in deeper area, around current or structure or grass but in deep water.
