Thanks for the clear demo! One question. The release lever used to lower and raise the bike rack is nearly impossible to open and close. Do you have any recommendation on who to relax this lever for easier use? Thanks
How do you tighten the rack securely to the hitch with a wheel? It seems difficult to get enough leverage on a round object without any detents. I’m concerned someone could steal the rack by pulling it out.
Hello. The round turn knob provides the necessary leverage to engage the wedge inside the hitch firmly. As with all hitch racks, we'd still suggest checking the tightness periodically on long road trips. Thanks!
Hello. The, foot or fin at the bottom of the stinger is a steel protector for the knob incase the rack rubs or drags on the ground. Some lower vehicle, in some situations, may find ground clearance an issue, this feature will help to protect the knob and rack. A tip is to approach sudden inclines (eg: driveways) at an angle to lessen the potential of rubbing the rack on the ground. Thanks!
Hello. The bike is best held as close to the front fork as possible, a fender will prevent the most stable hold on the bike. We suggest considering the Yakima OnRamp which is best suited for bikes with fenders: www.rackattack.com/hitch-bike-racks/yakima-onramp-2-inch/
Hello. The StageTwo fits 20” to 29” wheel sizes and tires up to 3.25” wide and up to 5" wide with the StageTwo Fat Bike Kit (Sold Separately). It is available in two sizes: 1.25” hitch receivers and 2” hitch receivers. Use the guide below to confirm sufficient clearance on the RAV4, if the spare tire position causes issues, Yakima does offer hitch extensions as a solution. assets.yakima.com/Product/instructions/8002740/1 Thanks!
Hello. Here are a couple racks to consider that work great for bikes with fenders: www.rackattack.com/hitch-bike-racks/yakima-onramp-2-inch/ www.rackattack.com/hitch-bike-racks/thule-easyfold-xt-hitch-bike/
