This week I discovered Yakitori! So of course I went on a deep dive trying to learn everything I could about it! I ended up making my own DIY homemade Yakitori Grill! Next week I'll try my hand at butchering up some chicken and cooking with my new grill!

I love the fact you look for cheap alternatives. Most cooking channels will show you the straightforward, expensive options. Thank God you don't do that, ordinary people can't afford a $60 charcoal or $200 yakitori grill.

First of all, hindsight is 2020, and this design proved to not be the best. Check out part 3 for more thoughts on why this design has some serious set backs. As far as step by step though, go to your local home center, buy a dry wall mud pan, and some angle brackets. Then just drill some holes, and rivet the brackets on like you see in the video. Then I cut notches with a dremmel for the skewers and used some corks with a nut and bold through them to have a way to carry the thing. I sprayed the outside with high heat spray paint. I would place this on a stone, or in a metal tray if using this indoors, and keep a fire extinguisher ready, and make sure the room is ventilated.
