@@sammayo473 i think you don't get what the comment means. look closely to the model they use in both games when they're laughing. in the original, the bald guy in red shirt is the one who isn't laughing, but in the remake he's laughing.
... I love how it's the same voice actors, but they've noticeably improved a lot over the last 15 years! Like, you can hear the emotion so much more strongly in the remake!
These games are so cool Man. The only bad thing is that NG+ is similar to no data. There isn't something like "The enemies will be tougher" plus have high health bars at the start, middle and end. Kind of a shame. Though they could add that. It ain't so hard. Like for example in God of War. God of War 2 had Bonus Play but the enemies stayed the same. Ha! That was 2007! Can't Believe how good those games looked like. Shame that Yakuza didn't had a similar treatment but still makes the game run alright. Anyways for God of War (2018) or 4 if you want to the NG+ was released a few months after the game's release and it's pretty good plus the enemies were harder. Exactly what i was expecting from Yakuza but it don't. Maybe it would make the Level 999 thing more interesting. Like at the start you can already 1 hit enemies even if you didn't got high levels. It says it's LVL 1 but I'm still OP. Maybe because of the Dragon Mail but who knows? For short: I wish that the Yakuza games had better NG+ and not 1 shot enemies because of their low health. Not sure if it's the same for these games but for 0 it's like that.
I appreciate the accuracy of staying faithful to the original scene. And I appreciate the growth of the voice actors since the original game. And I appreciate the way Goro's seiyuu says Kiryu-chan so much.
But maybe a bit too faithful. Cause you can't use ps2 animations on a higher quality model and expect it to look amazing. Cause it just emphasizes how robotic the animation really is
Fun fact: reason why this and kiwami 2's cutscenes look pretty much identical in terms of framing and animation is because they're literally just reusing the old performance capture data and same camera cordinates witht the modern visuals and in the case of kiwami 2, within the new dragon engine
Which is why in some of the cutscenes the animation is a little clunky, you can notice the difference in quality when the game shifts to the new cutscenes that weren't in the og. I appreciate staying faithful but ps2 animations don't work that well with the more detailed character models, even less so with the Dragon Engine in Kiwami 2.
@@seka1nix I dunno bout Kiwami 2. I think that because of the Dragon Engine I can't tell if it's a PS2 game. Also I'm Still Pogging over how good Dragon Engine looks like. I can't recognise Kamurocho because of how much Lightning there is. Same for Sotenbori. I think that the other engine is a bit more simple but better to recognise.
I think the reason for is that they were rushing making kiwami to be able to finish 6 since they came out the same year thats why also the lighting in kiwami isnt also the best
understandable, he had only just been let out of the hole two years prior to the start of Zero, so that explains why he looks like he been through a war.
Hoxxxy I’ve literally never seen anyone hate majima everywhere. If anything, it’s one of the most beloved parts of kiwami and one of the reasons TO ply Kiwami, even though I thought it was a 6-7/10
Damn, I love how the VAs improved their performance after 15 years, it's amazing. Also 1:14 ARE THOSE CLOTHING PHYSICS IN THE ORIGINAL!?? A PS2 GAME???? Damn, why didn't Kawami 1 get that?
I like the rerecorded Dialogue better. Majima sounds more crazy in the remake. also, when he got smacked, it sounded more realistic as if he actually got pelted hard, and that "O-DII-" he lets out.
@@FranciscoFJM If only he remember that he voice actored him. Maybe he could have voice actored again for Kiwami. Or at least record some dialouges and we can add em in-game. Has anyone showed all cutscenes without audio but sound effects only? That'd make it better.
@@FranciscoFJM Exactly. The main reason why i said that he should record himself and post it somewhere. And we can mess around to see if it sounds good.
they copied the same animations from a 16 year old game and literally pasted it on kiwami. yeah i know they were trying to save time but not only does it not look old, its pasted on a lot more different models so the animations look even weirder than the original. not very smart move sega
I'm not gonna start some shit and I know it's not a remaster but still GTA definitive edition can't even being compared to this! Same animations but more graphic detail and Re sounding! This is just perfect
I'm pretty sure they're literally just the OG PS2 animations with new models overlaid. They do still look a little stiff compared to the new additions, like the Nishiki flashbacks look like they're almost from a different game.
ya know for a old PS2 game Yakuza 1 still holds up pretty well for it's time, obviously Kawami is the better looking of the two. one major difference however, the Majima everywhere thing in Kawami wasn't a thing in the original. you still had to fight Majima certain times, but it was mostly in the main story.
@@LiterallySatanOfficial true enough, but I was just giving an example. they did add more than just that, when I first played Kawami I almost thought I was playing a different game at certain points lol. even some of the side quest and substories for example were different, but I was glad they atleast kept most of the core story the same. however there are some things I do like about the original over Kawami, but there's also things I like about Kawami over the original. the gameplay I would say is much more polished in Kawami, not that the gameplay in the original was bad, I just think it's smoother. however the one thing the original didn't do was have enemies spamming alot, when I first played Kawami and started getting a feel of the gameplay, I noticed there was alot more blocking and spamming.
all the words same the voice sounds different GRAPHICS PERFORMANCE ANIMATION CUTSCENE MUSIC SOUNDS GAMEPLAY EVERYTHING PS4 Definitely Wins 👍+ superior PS2 Original ok is old still fun to play
The performance is completely different, the script is still the same, and obviously Hidenari Ugaki still voices Majima in both versions. All that aside, the only English release of the original PS2 version of Yakuza 1 is dubbed TERRIBLY in English, so I wouldn't consider it still good to play lol.
