One thing I wanna note here, the dynamic intro of this combines 2 very iconic signature moves of Kiryu’s. The mid-air clash is reminiscent of the very first dynamic intro in the series against Yoshitaka Mine. But notice Kiryu’s pose, that’s his Iconic high kick from the Yakuza 1 box art. Fitting for Kiryu’s final ever (playable as him) dynamic intro
Remember back in 0 he also wanted to kill Shibusawa. The other antagonists were close, but Iwami and his group reignited that same wrath he had when he was hellbent on making sure Shibusawa would suffer for good.
@@mrb1naryy with Shibusawa it was more Kiryu being young and controlled by emotions , in yakuza 6 kiryu is much more controlled , he knows what he is doing and was going to kill him with his own hands
He most certainly is, he just wasn't able to when his closest people are in the line of danger. So he simply settled for a T.K.O in exchange for being able to take... Well, you know. A few bullets.
I'm pretty sure PLENTY of people would take their family being threatened personally. That being said: it's sure as shit satisfying seeing Kiryu beat this asshole's face in, isn't it? :D
Can you blame him? Kiryu swore to protect Haruka, and everyone else close to him. Put those exact things on the line, and you get a man whose fear is replaced with rage. . . . Not like Kiryu really demonstrates any fear...
I said this in another battle with Little Baby Iwami... But this is such an endurance feat for Kiryu, man gets hammered with a pipe several times, and then knocked down, but gets back up... and shows Iwami just who he is. *The Dragon of Dojima* and this man messed with so many lives that Kiryu didn't care if he killed him. And I love that Kiryu is just ready to end him.
My headcanon, but: Receive You is Kiryu's theme as an opponent, a rival, someone who will make you greater, it's a loss where you'll become better. He's a wise man, skillful and strong, a beacon of light of sorts. The Way of Life is the theme when the Dragon of Dojima wants your head.
I love the subtle storytelling in their appearance too. Iwami has muscle yes, but its 'show muscle'. Do you really think he's been in that many fight before this? He barely knows how to throw a punch and it reflects in the fight. He's piss easy to beat. But Kiryu despite being beaten with a lead pipe is still standing. And he actually has real muscle. Strength muscle. He's leaner, built for fighting. Iwami didn't stand a chance here, and he didn't deserve too anyways.
i love how Kiryu had multiple fights before this, got beaten with a metal pipe and still wiped the floor with him, it really showed how outmatched he was to step up to the Dragon.
I absolutely LOATHED Iwami after all the shit he did, I wasn’t expecting Yakuza to make a character that made me livid just at the thought of them, and I can’t help but love Iwami for the wrong reasons. He is a total scumbag and he’s one of the only two villains in the series Kiryu wanted to kill, the other being Shibusawa. But here, it’s much more personal.
@@GamerBlazenedhe’s misguided, and is a scumbag, but unlike Iwami he’s hateable in a “you pathetic piece of shit” kinda way rather than Iwami’s underhandedness and cowardice.
Iwami: *literally is a genius for his schemes, plans and gets the best music theme and Dynamic Intro (if not the best for someone but for me it is)* Also him: *literally just Kei Ibuchi but even more trash.* Welp at least Ibuchi was better than Iwami, don't everyone agree? (But to be honest Iwami seems enjoyable for me.)
@@randomduck8679 Oh moveset stealing huh? Never knew about that. However I paragonated Iwami to Ibuchi as "throw-away villain" that's why. But I agree Ibuchi was also lame. Let's remember this: *NEVER BRING A KNIVE TO A GUNFIGHT (UNLESS YOU'RE THE MAD DOG OF SHIMANO)*
@@michelepapagni6011 What makes Iwami a throw away villain? Every final boss in the series never returns for the sequel. Aizawa is the only one I'd call a throwaway.
@@randomduck8679 Just saying. I've seen lots of people complaing about Iwami as a boss other than have just 1 HP Bar like every other boss (Koshimizu was the only one to have 3 HP Bars, one in his 1st Encounter and two more in his 2nd Encounter though even Someya if we talk about HP in every encounter.) Even though I agree that Iwami is a "Little Baby", which it's true, he's very weak in physical combat. The fact that every final boss doesn't return for the sequel is also true. Speaking of Aizawa, he should've had more screen time and it looked very clear that he was going to be the final boss in general. Coincidentally I was just listening to "The Battle for The Dream" so yeah though these are opinios so if you say that Aizawa is a throw away villain I respect your opinion even if I disagree. Returning to Iwami he looks enjoyable in my opinion though he should've had 2 HP Bars like Koshimizu's 2nd Encounter. At least 2, not 3 or 4 or many Bars like good ol' Ryuji in Kiwami 2.
Play on hard on PC and he becomes one of the hardest final bosses, especially if you don't spam healing items. Definitely the hardest Y6 main story boss, except the Hungman. Lorewise, the biggest threat to Kiryu personally and to both Omi and Tojo. Also, the one boss who left Kiryu no chance and had no logical reasons to fail in his plan and only got defeated due to the deus ex machina trick with Hirose guys...
Banger theme, Iwami is not weak like many fans seem to think, he's probably one of the most, if not the most, impressive antagonist like the guy was running everything behind his fathers back, the chairman of the yomei alliance, plus holy Iwami took that punch to the head like a tank, I really love this boss/antagonist
His mind was very impressive to have accomplished all that he did in that short space of time, but he was physically no match for kiryu, and fucked up heavily messing with him.
Characters that I respect most: kiryu, majima, saejima, daigo, nishiki, kuze, sera, kazama, terada, ryuji, mine, aizawa, hirose and last but not least someya. Including civilian characters such as hai lee, tachibana, akiyama, tanimura and shinada. They are all wonderful people But iwami, no! Even that sugai! They have always been losers and traitorous shitheads! They lost cuz kiryu has what they don’t have! FAMILY!
I love how each final boss of Kiryu's final games have been built around the ideals of the Yakuza as a whole. Spoilers for Yakuza 6, Gaiden, and Infinite Wealth lol Little baby Iwami wanted to *be* a yakuza, recognizing the strength and power it brought without any realization of how it would destroy what few relationships he had left. Shishido wanted to stay *in* the Yakuza, even as it reached its sunset, due to there being nothing left for him when the smoke cleared. And lastly, Ebina wanted to *destroy* the Yakuza, and everything surrounding them, due to the pain brought about from a clan war he had nothing to do with that still nonetheless ruined his life.
Despite Iwami being one of the weakest antagonists narratively in Yakuza history his theme is a total banger and is always something I look forward to hearing whenever I replay Y6, Yakuza music does not miss 🤘
gameplay wise he's one of the weakest, but story wise HOLY CRAP you learn to hate this guy... Kiryu was so close to breaking his creed and wanted him friggin DEAD
How? Play on hard on PC and he becomes one of the hardest final bosses, especially if you don't spam healing items. Definitely the hardest Y6 main story boss, except the Hungman. Lorewise, the biggest threat to Kiryu personally and to both Omi and Tojo. Iwami is weak and easy, but I love it story wise. Iwami is a brat trying to play the bad guy, he didn't climb the ladder by his own merits but betrayed and killed to do it. Kiryu is a veteran who has gone through tough shit, this man has a super human strength and we know it, add to that that his daugther and grandson were taken hostage, to say Kiryu was pissed is an understatement; this man was out for blood and showed no mercy to Iwami.
You can get him to half health by spamming the full Kiryu combo. Then, use tiger drops, well placed grabs, and of course extreme heat mode to take him down.
I wish Yakuza fans would stop begging RGG to milk Kiryu it just becomes fan-servicey and more of a fan-fic this game should've been final even not they should've ended at 7 let Itchiban take the spot light for once but that'd ruin sales so going down the milking path is very unfortunate why can't some mfs accept Judgment as a alternitave a consistant story too. I just can't get into the games after the continuous loonatics attacking VA's being toxic asf and just how the games end up, I loved the series just got put off with what it turned into afterwards. Yakuza 8 story is where I was just done, awful ending with a love story that goes no where, a forced plot for Kiryu where they prolonged his death for a sequel, and the fact I knew this game could've been better if they re-worked the story. In my eyes Yakuza 6 or 7 is when it should've ended.
