I picked up this 1985 Yamaha 3 wheeler a few weeks ago. I think I paid $310 for this 225dx. After a battery, petcock, air filter, tire tube, key switch and a carburetor cleaning ( parts can be found using my gear link) this thing is together and runs. Make sure to watch me riding this thing for the first time. I may get hurt! LOL

The nut you tightened on the engine was timing chain tensioner, loosen it up turn it over a few times and it will set the tension itself that knock will go 👌

That air filter is not pre oiled. It needs to be sprayed with Uni foam filter oil.

That nut you tightened adjust the clutch. When you pull up on the shifter it engages the clutch. Be ready for some wheelies too. 225dx is a wheelie machine. You'll love it

Im restoring a 1982 kawasaki kdx80 i got for free :D im getting no spark but im pretty sure its a stator issue. These videos make me want to get it running so bad.

To change the rear trailing arms, the diff has to come out. At least most of the way out. That intake boot is a huge problem. The maf is the only air metering device on that engine and it needs to have no air leaks between it and the cylinder head.

My honda always had a tick even after I did adjusted valves. And has full competition bottom end is sound. It's just a three wheeler thing. Great vid bud

I’ve got a 225 dx runs great no matter what sits outside 24/7 always fires up electric start was really slow when I got it put a new starter in it starts lurks dream now

Sounds like you need to adjust the valves and I think the knot on the side of the case was for the adjustment on theCentrifugal clutch

Really hope you cleaned that inside wheel good or the rust flakes will chew that tube to pieces, also use a round file for valve stem hole if its sharp so it doesn't tear the steam

That battery is one bounce away from disaster. On a lurch to the right, the battery will almost certainly be thrown against the left tire. And there is absolutely nothing providing hold-down force to keep the battery from bouncing up and out past the small lip on the bottom edge of the bracket.

That screw is your timing chain adjuster screw start the three wheeler as it’s idling loosen that screw and it will auto adjust then tighten it back down found that out on another RU-vid video for you

Try loosening or tighten the timing chain on the side of the where the cam pulley crank is there's a little screw that looks like a nut on by the BOK you'll see it it's on the right hand side of it

The best oil to use for Yamaha is yamalube because I use it on my Yamaha grizzly 660 and it works really good

To mount and dismount a tire put a some soap water on the bead it will go on alot easier

That bolt that says increase and decrease lossen it 3 turns and tighten it back up that's for the chain in the moter that's what the clicking is it's loose and it's slapping around in the moter

NEED SOME HELP! I just rebuilt my dirt bike and it now has 5hrs on it. It takes about 20kicks to start it, but soon as it does it runs perfect all the power. Soon as it starts it might die then it will start up again first kick. Not sure what the problem is. I WILL GREATLY APPRECIATE HELP!

Might be a weak spark (plug, coil, gap or ground) all the cranking heats the cylinder enough for a weak spark to finally start
