Onto part three, we begin with the repair of the brass fitting that was found to be broken off the carb 4 in part two. A very small amount of JB weld is used on the prepared surface, as little as possible on both pieces, and tapped in with a small nylon mallet. With that carb now set to dry the next carb, carb 3 is going to be disassembled, this one containing a prime start plunger will mean there will be an extra component to clean and test.
The carb cleaning itself was about identical except for the extra provisions on the carb and bowl. This carb was found not to be terribly dirty, just a little. The main jet size recorded. Float Height was good. Reassembly was uneventful.

The valve was disassembled and inspected before cleaning. A resistance if 31.3 ohms is recorded across the leads. The cold value for the valve is 20mm. The results after 5 minutes shows the value is 25mm. Which is within specification. The valve is then reassembled and then assembled to the carb with new gaskets. It uses gasket 62Y-14398-30
Carb two was next, having no prime start valve it was just like carb four except it was dirty, the float needle was bad and the float was 4mm too low. The jet size was recorded and we moved onto carb one which has a prime start valve like carb three. This carb had nothing terrible to report. The valve values were a bit off from carb one but within specification.
CARB 3 VALVE 31.3Ohms 20mm - 25mm
CARB 1 VALVE 19.9Ohms 22mm - 27mm
Once carb one was completed. It was found that the main jets for 1 and 3 were swapped, so they were swapped back
Result
1 - 124 / 39
2 - 126 / 39
3 - 116 / 39
4 - 114 / 39
Next was the accelerator pump with the broken hose which was completely disassembled and dirty inside. so it was cleaned out completely and the hose was found to have a reducer in it which was removed, added into the replacement hose 64J-14349-50. Reassembled after repair the accelerator pump awaits the assembly of all parts back together in the next chapter.
