Steinway is number one. CFX has crystal clear highs though.

With each piano the microphone picking up the sound gets closer, as does the camera. Yamaha more distant with more room reverb, Steinway louder because closer with much less room reverb, Kayserberg closest loudest very little room reverb. Absolutely terrible comparison!

@@Pruticle Guess you've never met a real detuned piano if you think that's too bad.
@Pruticle
@Pruticle 2 года назад
@@Thiago-px9ev interesting. Well, let’s assume that I am a professional piano technician and I tune/service both CFX and Steinway D pianos on a regular basis. In that case both of these pianos are more than slightly out of tune in the video (especially if the goal was to compare the pianos to each other). Is it possible they just arrived at the venue and hadn’t had their final tuning? Of course, but I’m just pointing out that they are more than “slightly” out of tune. I’m suspicious of the Kayserburg which was in very good tune and sounded wonderful. I suspect one of two things: - The Kayserburg is the house instrument for this venue and was already there, prepped and tuned for this video. Coincidence. - The Kayserburg was meticulously tuned while the CFX and Steinway were not in order to make them look inferior. Also notice he plays quite a bit more on the Kayserburg (showing it off?) than the CFX and Steinway. All of the above is just my suspicion, but it’s clear he preferred the Kayserburg.
@Thiago-px9ev
@Thiago-px9ev 2 года назад
@@Pruticle You just assumed what I thought you were. I didn't say you don't recognize tuning, of course the CFX is out of tune, what I assumed - and seems that I was right - is that you're too used to concert-tuned instruments, which is fine and should be the standard thing, to think too bad of this CFX tuning. Of course it's bad enough to play a concert or to record something, but I wish all pianos in my university were that "bad". This is far from "screamingly-out-of-tune".

I think the Cfx is hands down the best. The tonal colors throughout the entire range is superb. It’s not bright like old Yamahas but not nearly muddy as a Steinway. I don’t think muddy is the word there’s just something about Steinway bass that always sounds more like Helen Keller talks than how Celine dion sings.

The major components in the Kayserburg KA275 are from Germany. Soundboard, Bavarian Spruce by Strunz. Action stack and Hammers by Renner which is now owned by Steinway. Pinblock by Dehonit. Strings, Röslau. Keyframe and keysticks by Laukhuff. Fully handcrafted by master builders near Guangzhou, China. The biggest difference is that you can own multiple Kayserburg KA275’s vs. 1 X Steinway D274. One must actually play to understand the differences vs. hearing an audio recording. Yes, the Yamaha CFX, which by no means is a phenomenal concert grand that is way out of tune. No, the Kayserburg is unlike a Bösendorfer. Bösendorfer’s rim construction is completely different vs. any other piano manufacture today. A Bösendorfer is a Bösendorfer. It cannot become a Steinway and vice-versa.

Steinway is the most articulate. The CFX to my ear sounds a little thin. The Kayserberg has what the CFX is missing in richnness of sound,. Warmer but not quite as articulate as the Steinway. The only brand that I think can top a Steinway is a Bosendorfer... i'd love to hear a Fazioli in the mix.

Yamaha , very precise and versatile... Steinway , blends and sings nicely. Kayserburg, sounds like a Bosendorfer copy: very strong bass , but the tones sound less lively and the mid and high registers are really set apart. Not so suitable for classical music. IMHO. Especially the mid and higher register ar a bit flat compared to the bass.

Not a very good comparison seeing as though the Yamaha was very much out of tune and not set up properly yet. Also, the person recording is not at a consistent distance from each instrument. Overall, as a tech, I would have to say for overall balance of sound, the Steinway is great. I've never really liked Steinway's actions unless they were regulated very well. The Yamaha is the most precise, consistent, and versatile. The tone has a clarity and precision that sings and cuts through an orchestra very nicely, and also has a full spectrum of color. I also think that the CFX action is by far the best touch and response of any of them at their best. Kayserburg is nice, but not as balanced as the others. Good power and sustain though. At this level, they are all excellent and worth the price. The choice is very subjective, since all do what they were designed to do very well. Beautiful playing!!!!

Better steinway than Yomama ( you know what i mean). Still in every songs Steinway is the lead for Pianos. Steinway is for Professional Piano. Yamaha is more for Learning Piano. The Chinese piano, i didn't like it. That's my opinion. And if you want to comment critical or suggestion. Use good words ok. I know You have been taught to use A good manner right in typing something or even talking to someone. So, Type words nicely. And think Twice before you comments.
