Sequence on Yamaha CS-15 with the help of Devicemeister's Stepic (software sequencer), Korg SQ-1, Kenton Pro Solo MK3, Behringer RD-6, and Akai MPC X. Using 2 instances of Stepic sent to 2 midi to CV converters that can do HZ/V and S-trig and then to the CS-15.

Thanks! I'll probably do a couple more similar to this. This one is a bit of a test run.

i found when i sequenced mine , the portamento bender did not work . . . gutted . . . . . . .sold it and got a PRO3

Quite a few older synths behave that way. Portamento and Bender were tied to the keyboard before microprocessors were used. CV/Gate bypasses the keyboard so they no longer have affect. For glide it's pretty easy to use a slew limiter module on the pitch cv and control that remotely. I use a synthesizers.com slew for this. When sequencing the CS-15 one thing you can do is still make use of the autobend by pressing a key while it's being sequenced. This will activate the autobend. Hope you are happy with your PRO3.

Is the CS-15 being primarily controlled via the SQ-1 or MK3? I have an SQ-1 and the CS15 but I have trouble using the SQ-1 as a MIDI-CV converter, the performance isn't great.

The lower pitch voice (upper section) is sequenced by the Kenton. The SQ-1 has a weird note rage that doesn't play too well with the CS-15 so it can only sequence mid range and higher notes. I actually bought the Kenton specifically for the CS-15 but use it all the time with everything it's super useful to have around.

@@Bata9999 OK, cool. That explains why the SQ-1 has been so tetchy with this synth. I might try to sequence mine via an Arturia KeyLab but, really, everyone says Kenton so I might need to just go there.

@@octopede With 1 Kenton you will need to use splitter cables to sequence both CS-15 voices. 2 of them would be ideal but 1 and a SQ-1 works fine for me. There is the Lalaland midi kit you could check out but they are a bit expensive and need installation. This gives midi control of the filters though which is very powerful.

@@Bata9999 OH wow, I didn't know the CS-15 filters could be MIDI'd at all. Good info.

@@octopede The lalaland kit came out just after I bought my pro solo so didn't feel like spending another $400. I might go for it in the future though.
