I greatly appreciate your focus on the advanced composition & arrangement features of this board. I've been working on a DAW, but the one thing that frustrates me is that I get new harmonic ideas with new rhythms. A DAW (FL Studio) will not change chords if you decide to during the sequence. That is where the ability to compose your own "styles" is excellent. You can program, let's say, a 1 5 7 1 baseline line, and then, if I understand you correctly, you have a bass sequence that will change chords depending on which chords you're playing over it. This is HUGE for me. Then the ability to lay down 16 tracks, and I assume you can export them separately to a mixer, is another nice tool that exoedites the laborious technical aspects of production and frees the mind to concentrate on the composition. Wow! That's a lot, not to mention all the sounds, the realistic kits, the sturdy keys (I play a P125 and hear that the DGX 670 has a very similar keybed), and speakers (I do miss a L/R 1/4" out, but I often splice the headphone jack anyway). And all of this for like $850. If it weren't for your videos I would have NEVER known how deep the functionality goes in this thing. It may be a bit more awkward than a step sequencer or piano roll, but it provides access to those functions regardless. Your videos are the only ones that cater to the serious musician or producer, and it is greatly appreciated. Yamaha needs to hire you - they would sell more boards. I'm trying one out tomorrow. The action is not an issue. I have one, but haven't mastered it's complexity. I'm interested in how Phill feels it compares to his new Roland Go Keys. The DGX does have really great sounds if you can master the various screen navigations.

Thanks to you and another friend on the channel, Myron, I eventually sought out the GO keys. Buying another keyboard was not on my agenda but after trying it out I was blown away by the styles that are very contemporary. And then it has some very good voices. That was the deal clincher! The DGX is very good for certain styles out of the box but not the more contemporary stuff. For that you have to program it yourself. ALSO THE WEIGHTED KEYS you cannot beat the DGX on that. The lack of weighted Keys definitely affects my playing on GO KEYS. It is definitely not a replacement. The same way the DGX is not a replacement for my MOTIF. 😁
