See how to clean the carburetor on a Yamaha EF3000iSEB generator in this video from Partzilla.com.
As we’ve said many times on our sister channel Boats.net, you need to treat the fuel or remove it to protect your carburetor if your engine is going to sit for a while during the winter. Same rules apply when it comes to a generator that you use periodically.
In this video, we’re dealing with a generator that isn’t running great after John accidentally left the fuel valve open on his generator. This has led to a carb with some old gas in it, which has caused his Yamaha generator to not run that great.
We’re going to dive right in and clean the carb on our generator, so we’ll need to remove the carburetor on our EF3000iSEB generator. We’ll start with the panels, and then we’ll have to remove the air filter box to gain access to the carburetor and remove it.
With the carb removed, we’ll run through the jets with some carb cleaner. Turns out, the pilot jet is severely clogged, and we’ll use a brush bristle to remove the clog the old fashioned way. With that done, we’ll put it all back together and test it out.

I needed this a few months ago. You just gave me the answer I was looking for. I missed that pilot jet when I was taking the carb apart looking for parts to clean. I already converted mine to propane to eliminate this headache. But, if I ever want to convert it back I know what to do.

Lets add a yoshimura end can and an oil cooler to that machine and get 5kilowatts of energy output instead of 3kw

Excellent video, thank you so much for creating it. I also left old gas in my carburetor a few times over the years and now my choke doesn't stay open when I pull it out. I seem to recall it being kind of sticky and now it won't stay open. The generator still runs great once started considering it's pushing 20 years of use. Do you have any suggestions on what might be causing this, and fix to resolve the issue? Thanks!
