I have never seen anyone rewind a recoil like that. The way I do it is wind up the spring, clamp it with a vise grip or a c clamp, line up the holes, thread the rope though, and then finish putting it back together.
Steven Vanheel so just got a skidoo 154 everest 08 snowmobile when i pull the pull cord the first two like bumbs during the pull are ok but the last one is always like making a weird noise and makes it hard to start it and sometimes during the while pull its scratchy and makes it 2x harder to pull and we dont know whats wrong or what to do
The sled runs great and everything but the rope is just really hard and it sounds like a cracking noise its hard to explain but everything is great on it besides for it only holds 1 gallon of gas
CoalTv I would say that the only way to figure out what’s wrong with the recoil is to pull it off of the side of the motor. Once you get it off, pull the rope and watch the inner parts move and look for things such as the rope falling apart on the inside, or loose/worn parts. Is the gas tank supposed to hold more then a gallon of gas?
