-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ve played the drums for over 25 years, including experience live and in the studio across several different genres of backbeat music, plus a degree in Drum and Percussion Performance from McNally Smith School of Music.
These days I’m focused on three things - building my home recording studio, releasing The 10/8 Drum Method instructional book, and completing an album featuring some of the grooves and styles from that instructional book. Stay tuned here for updates on all the aspects of these projects and of course all of the finished products!

honestly im convinced that all these stands are great for just about any style of gig, not just light jazz. ive owned the whole set for a few years now and backlined my drums on many gigs and they've taken all the abuse from hard hitters with no problem. they're light but also very rugged.

I converted from my DW 9000 hardware to all Crosstown hardware for gigging two years ago. TOTAL game changer! I reduced my overall weight by 45 pounds! I've done about 50 gigs with it and I couldn't be happier. If you order a whole set, it comes with a large carrying bag. That way all the individual pieces can go in there in their own smaller bags, and not get scratched up.

Those full sets are so cool! I just saw one the other day and it looks really convenient

I recently gigged for the first time in a few years. I forget the pain in the butt it is to move a stack of hardware! I do have the Crosstown snare stand and I love it, so now I really want to convert the whole set up like you.

@@DirtyBandana I know it's time consuming to build. Specially if they are tuned.

What about feel and spring adjustment

No swivel is a deal breaker. I use all their other crosstown stuff and LOVE it. But the HH was a big swing and a miss.

I use it for gigs and face some trouble with my light 13” hats as it fails sometimes when opening them. What could be the issue as it can be adjusted 😅

I'm thinking about getting this one for my traveler kit. Is there an adjustment for the spring tension typical to most HH stands???

Hey Rick! I just double-checked, it doesn't look like there is a spring mechanism on this thing at all, it's basically 'direct-drive' - the pull rod connects to the chain at the top of the pedal.

No it can be adjusted and is a problem with light hats as it fails sometimes

Whoa, no swivel? That could be a problem for me, and I don't even play a double pedal. But I really do want to cut down the hi-hat weight. I guess I could go to the studio, reset my hi-hat stand to the fixed position and see if I can get it to fit as is.

I know right!? I was surprised too

Not having "swingable hi hat legs" to accommodate double bass drum pedals is a flunk, otherwise I like them.

I have half a dozen of these regular symbol stands, but unfortunately, the lack of swivel busts this for me. It’s too bad I would totally use it otherwise.
