Totally!! A well-designed product. A bit on the expensive side though.....

Do your research man. It takes less than a minute to find out that it's 7.8kg and made mostly out of aluminium. It's called "Crosstown" because it's designed for drummers on the go. Drummers on the go "across town" aren't carrying double pedals. While it's unfortunate the legs on the hihat don't rotate, it obviously wasn't designed for you to use alongside your heavyweight iron cobra double pedal. And then your comparing it to some random trash pdp beginner hardware set?

So I really don't care that much what it's made of....I only care about the weight....which is why I....you know....weighed each piece. But thanks for caring enough to take less than a minute to research that. As far as the HiHat/double pedal thing; when I'm in town and and doing gigs "across-town" I almost always carry a double-pedal....and not the Iron Cobra pedal either. I simply did not realize I wasn't supposed to carry a double-pedal! DOH! :) As far as the "random" PDP "beginner" hardware pack....yea that's kind of a apples to oranges thing, but at the time I was just trying to give some context re: price range....as opposed to a head-to-head comparison. Any suggestion thereof was a mistake on my part. FYI I have, subsequent to making that video, had a chance to use this stuff on gigs, and overall I think everything is really well-made and I am 100% on board with it! Putting aside the double-kick thing, he HH stand is very high-quality....clutch doesn't slip, nor does the upper tube. I am planning on making a follow-up video to give my impressions thusly. But who knows when that'll happen. At any rate, here's a link to a review of said hardware that I think you'll find more to your liking: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OVqMRtq-cSk.html Thanks for your comment.

It's a no brainer. This is the way to go. My only complaint is that the tension can not be adjusted on the Hi Hat stand.

I wonder if Axis still makes their aluminum stands? I have the same issues with the hi hat stand.

You have to weigh them upright to get an accurate reading on that type of scale 🤦‍♂️

Do you think it could hold a tom as well?
@thecreativedrummer5546
@thecreativedrummer5546 5 лет назад
You know, that's a good question. Personally I don't care for that arrangement so never tried it with these stands. I'm guessing it probably wouldn't work, as the stands are SOOOO light...but then again if the tom was small and positioned directly over one of the tripod base legs, and the legs were opened out wide, it might work. I'm gonna try and dig up a proper clamp and try this out. I'll hit you back with what I find out.

That would be great!

Robert-Jan van Schoonacker if you check out Yamaha’s video on RU-vid on these, it shows the stand with a Tom arm inserted in it and holding a 12” rack tom and then there’s a shot of the snare stand holding a larger tom in the basket!

dw weighs approx 17lbs as does the Yamaha
@garydatesphotos

So the same weight and $50 cheaper! Interesting....I'm just not a big fan of that old-school snare basket design on the snare stand, but then again I'm just going by the photo. Anyway thanks for the heads-up!
