YAMAHA Montage M8X, my first play trough of some of the AWM2 Rhodes Electric Piano sounds. Exploring the factory programmed Performances, changing Scenes, using the controllers and expression pedals (FC7) of which one is linked to the Super Knob. The firmware v.1.10 was the latest one at the time of recording this video.

Sounds great, Kristian! And very cool that you can use scenes to store/recall variations of a sound on the M8X. I wish you could even name the scenes ("Chorus", "Phaser", "Pad Layer", etc.) and see those names on the display. So you have to remember them (well, should be possible :)). Still, pretty nice workflow. And again, great playing!

Hey Lukas! Thank you! Yes the Scenes are realy a powerfull performance tool, maybe there will be some future firmware update which will allow the nameing of each scene, we'll see.

Live sets can be saved and named. This is different from a performance.

Have you ever compared this synthesizer to the PX-5S?

I had the Montage M8X for a limited time and had no chance/time to compare it with the PX5S.

Nice :-) Do you know, is it possible to change scenes via midi? I have a midi foot controller, if it is possible to change scene holding down a pedal, and releasing it again, having the Montage go back to the default scene 1?
