Hi all, As I've owned my MT-10 for a little while Now I thought I'd do the review on this beast of a bike. I hope this helps you out! If it did please drop a like and smash the sub button! Thank you for watching Bike Like Mike
I think I was the 500-one 😅😅😅 I bought my MT-10 3 weeks ago and had my 1st ride today. Woooow What a bullet that is It was same like with mine Kawasaki Z750 Never test one, loved the look and colour and I got it Mt-10 was same always loved shape, look and fluo grey painting Was gonna test ride a new one but they told me they don't have one in a shop for test rides(I got a feeling that they say that because of my foreign accent)😂 As I couldn't test one so I went and bought one 2017 fluo grey For now I love it Will see how I feel as a everyday bike(live in London)
Thanks for posting Mike, very helpful review. I am seriously considering an MT-10, just can't make up my mind between this and the Ducati 1200S. I'm leaning towards the MT-10 as it's probably more suitable for the occasional tour. I have a question about the decat and reflash. Do Yamaha dealers do this, if not how do you get the reflash done? On the gas consumption, is 35 - 40 mpg about right? Thanks again.
Hi Paul, thanks I appreciate that! You’re gonna have to try both and go with your gut I think! Tbh I doubt they have the capability to do a re flash to suit aftermarket parts but you can always ask. Any motorcycle tuner can do it, you have a couple of options though. Some will say post off the Ecu and it’s sent back to you with a flash to suit or you can take the bike and get it properly tuned (every engine is different). Had mine done at JB motorcycle services - as I trust his work and he’s a decent chap. Yeah I think between 30/35mpg, lots of variables though. I did a vid on mapping - hope it helps! Thinking of remapping your bike? You should listen to this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gPRcbdTJuM0.html
@@BikeLikeMike92 Thanks for getting back to me Mike. Sorry I missed the remapping video first time around. I just watched it and it answered my questions. If I get the MT-10 and decide to recat, I'll contact JB. BTW, I test rode the MT-10 and the Speed Triple yesterday and while the handling felt bettter on the Speed (I really felt a part of the bike), I would pick the MT-10 as it can definatly be used to tour and I think after getting used to it, the handling will be just fine. Thanks again.
GREAT report, thanks. I should be capable of buying one next year, and have been investigating it (and everything else) thoroughly. It looks like this one would win-out over the GSX-S1000GT (have you ridden one? Your feelings?) I am NOT a fan of the front nose on the MT-10, (the "Transformer" motif is childish Japanese Manga crap)... but I could live with it. My biggest concern is about the headlights: 1) They are TINY, and no one in this brutal New York traffic will see that little pinprick(s) coming at them, ESPECIALLY the ocean of f***ing DEER we have around here. 2) The One Headlight thing- a big mistake by Yamaha. It's a Euro "racey" style and not appreciated here in the States. Foolish. I am already researching the possibility of fitting a completely different headlight assembly, and I ain't even BOUGHT one yet!
I haven’t ridden one of those yet. I’ll have to check it out! Yeah a lot of people dislike the one light being on thing. To be fair to it the single light is quite bright, it’s better than you think. If yam nailed the style and gave this bike an extra 20bhp I think it would probs be the best naked for having fun on the roads.
@D Mac the tires that came with me bike from the factory were the Bridgestone s22's. Those did not last long either , only like 2,500 miles, but they were good with grip in the twisties.... just wore out fast.

They aren’t 29mpg, more like 40. Regardless of the cost, you can tour one quite easily. I have videos to show how great they are as tourers! Also, depending on the type of tour, if I’m in the twisty mountains I’m not going to care about mpg!
