How to replace Yamaha DC in female jack power Yamaha WZ704401 for P-105 P105B and DGX650 with universal Jack (modification) by Adi Nugraha Jakarta - Indonesia 18 sep 2022
Wouldn't it have been easier to locate an adapter at the right voltage that fits the original pin vs tearing the whole thing apart to use the pin with the correct diameter for your existing adapter?!? Not trying to be critical...just wondering what the thought process was here? Also, I see that the new female receptors have three metal pins (legs). One is Hot/Positive, the second is Neutral/Negative, what does the 3rd pin/leg do?!? I thought ground at first, but I'm betting your adapter doesn't have a ground wire. None of the ones I've used in the past are grounded. It looks like you soldered all three at time stamp 8:20. (The bottom is Hot/+, the Top is Neutral/-, what is the middle right solder pin/legs electrical purpose?!? Thanks 🙂
1. Just want to notice people , Yamaha can not use any female connector. you need to buy from them. (easiest way). 2. yes 3rd is for ground. several use of them, even inside PCB has Ground to piano body. some for noise reduction.
