I’ve had the P515 for a couple of months and I absolutely love it,in particular the CFX and Bosendorfer samples,I also love the ballad and rock and bright grand samples,all very useable for band or solo piano gigs and theatre shows with orchestras that I’m often involved playing in,as a musician for 50 years since the age of 7,I absolutely love the P515🙂👍🎹

I'm a newbie and after watching many youtube videos , I bought the P515 in january 2022 ,very surprised to find more tutorials like this excellent one to confirm me again, that I made a Great choice . Just got Ipad ,so learning all of that stuff... Having a Great sound is so essential! JUST LOVE YAMAHA! Thank you so much PAUL , I learned a lot of new things in this video 👍🏽

The P515 is insanely good, especially for the price. You're getting a sound that is so close to acoustic that you'd be hard-pressed to appreciate the difference.

I own the kawai es 520 , the kawai mp11se, and the yamaha p515. The es 520 is light to the touch, the yamaha is heavy , and the mp11se is buttersmooth.... still I like all three of them, with all three of them very nice piano examples

Nice! How does the P515 compare to the new P-S500? Thanks
@BUJU2007
@BUJU2007 Год назад
The P-S500 is geared towards beginners. It's basically if you had a bunch of money and wanted to get all the bells and whistles for a beginner piano. It has the GHS keybed which is the same with the Yamaha P-45. it has like 400+ instruments and a decent piano sound. But if you're a serious piano player then the P-515 is better.
@Mr850man
@Mr850man Год назад
the P-S500 has the binaural CFX tho, so if you play with earphones it will sound amazing
@RyanHicks306
@RyanHicks306 Год назад
@@Mr850man so does this, but a newer sample for sure. For what it is worth, I compared the binaural sample of the P515 vs CLP745 and this was as good, if not better than that (CLP745 has a newer sample).

The Yamaha P515 was released 2018, over 4 years ago and i like the design. The reason i have not bought it was, that i missed the option "styles / auto accompaniment". Also more instruments like panflute... would be nice. Maybe Yamaha will release a successor after more than 4 years.
@guinhomusico9504

The guy showed the drum acconpaniment in the video. He just didn't turn on the automatic bass. That the P series didn't have before the P515. Yes, the P-515 has Panflute in XG bank. The P-515 is a digital piano. From what you wrote you want an arranger.
@michaelbruning9361
@michaelbruning9361 Год назад
@@guinhomusico9504 Thank you very much for your answer. Nice to hear, that there is Panflute, i downloaded the user manual from the yamaha homepage and Panflute was not in this list (pages 107 / 108). I have to look, what instruments are in the XG bank. Yes you are right, an arranger is very cool, but with 88 - weighted keys and a nice grand piano sound. The P-S500 I do not like the reflective plastic case and that i need a tablet in order to use the full functionality. The clavinova series has my wishes, but i do not have the space for it. I am currently using a Yamaha S90 XS, which has only arpeggiators.

They just have . . . . . the P525 and it's actually WORSE than the original. Doesn't sound as good and the "new" keyboard action is VERY unbalanced! I'll be sticking with my P515 for many years to come.
@michaelbruning9361
@michaelbruning9361 11 месяцев назад
I ordered the P525 in color white (not delivered until now). I tested the P515 and i liked it. Some people write, the P525 has better samples, better sound, and better keys, some say the opposite. The new P525 costs 1900 € the P515 is sold out for 1333 € (interesting price). Perhaps there is a series control (like with lenses) and some people get a better device than others.@@njdenney69

It’s a great instrument - but coming up on 5 years old now. Looking forward to seeing what Yamaha engineers have been working on since. Areas for improvement: Key action is a bit too heavy, could do with some registration memories for quick recall of settings, reverb has some fuzzy artefacts if set too high, front panel buttons a bit cheap and tacky feeling, sequencer is fiddly to use compared to simpler ones on the old Clavinovas. USB audio/midi connectivity is great though. I will definitely consider the P616.
@njdenney69
@njdenney69 Год назад
Only downside (and a minor one at that) is the slightly heavy key action. Other than that, no other portable piano comes close to this (even the considerably more expensive Roland FP90x)

@@michellemonet4358Yes, the static pressure to move middle C is high - 85g but the action is very responsive and better than many lighter actions (I had a few digital pianos and tested even more).

3: 29 , here is why I returned my new Roland FP-60X, some ( SOME!) keys not played correct way, even could't helping with pedal... Ordered Yamaha P515, should come in couple days. However Ronald FP-60X sounds very well, but NOT WELL as you performing here. Thank you.

But it's still the best on the market in my opinion. I recently tried the relatively new Roland FP90x with its sound modelling which is supposed to take it to the next level? Sound doesn't come close to the Yamaha.

The action is heavy, check it suits you before buying. The other sounds, after the first 2 pianos are hit and miss compared with even 20 year old instruments. The lack of saving registrations until you connect a tablet is bizarre.
