Justin gets his hands on our first demo model of the SX-900 keyboard. He was incredibly excited to try the instrument so thought we would capture his first experience on camera!

no one would regret buying the sx700 or sx900, the quality of sound is brilliant, i could not be more happy. no regret and no going back.

Hi thanks for the lovely videos, just want to ask something i got this keyboard but i am noticing a slight warm touch near the master volume side, also the warm part is in the area where the pendrive slots are , is this normal i also updated to the latest firmware

How does the S. Art Piano sound on this keyboard behave compared to those on Yamaha digital pianos(e.g. P515). Does the keyboard produce sympathetic/cabinet resonance while playing?

I really would like to see a comparison to the Korg PA1000. When you did the comparison between the PA4X and the Genos, I found it very revealing in that I didn't think the Genow as 'all that' as everyone said it was. I would take the Korg over the Genos just because of the huge price difference, but the PA1000 and the SX900 are much closer, about $200USD different. By the way, I love how you hopped through time making this video, starting out at 5:15, moving backwards through 5:11 to 5:00, then moving forward to 5:03, and jumping all the way to 5:20, and finally, almost to your starting point ending up at 5:17. Do the physicists know you can do that? :p :) :D

It's a great day, I was waiting for A&C Hamilton's review of the instrument. Still awaiting pop and ballad styles review. Yamaha keyboards give better playable sounds than korgs(my personal experience), however the onboard styles of Yamaha doesn't have that live feel, but if you tweek them, it will sound better than korgs.

@@mississippi_721 I am dead serious dude, I've been using both the brands for some time. And I tweek styles, coz I know how instruments work. And I always respect the super realism of drum kit sounds in the korgs.

Certaines fonctionnalités et améliorations comme l'écran tactile et le joystick par exemple,sont très bien,mais ce clavier ne sonne pas mieux qu'un psr970 amélioré avec le YEM.

Hi Many thanks for the video Key action on many top of the range keyboards are inferior to what Technics and Yamaha were producing 20 years Why is this apart from the most obvious....keeping profit margins high. I’d rather pay a little extra for semi weighted keys that are less plastic and more sturdier. After buying a Genos last year I sold it as I much rather weighted keys and 88 keys. Still love my Roland RD 800 Wish they’d bring out stage piano with all the Genos sounds and functions. Then you can swap from keyboard with bells and whistles to to full range piano. My Clavinova 705 is nice but not portable.😀😀

All down to personal taste as always. The SX900 has a vastly improved action compared to earlier models. But nothing can totally replace a real piano action. My Roland FP-80 gets very close though - and it has reasonable keyboard functionality too!

Your watch seems to have a mind of it's own. As the video progressed, the watch kept going back and forward in time 😂😄 but great sounds. I was happy with my Yamaha PSR S910, but now envious of this Keyboard. Genos is out of my price range. 😢😭

To say im disappointedly shocked to the core is an understatement. 99% of the sounds and styles are no different to my 20 year old PSR 8000 and 9000 pro. How can they even serve this keyboard up as dearer than a used Tyros 5. Its an insult. Whoever it was at Yamaha that dreamed this contraption up as a 'mini Genos', needs to go and work at the comedy store. Unbelievable.

You really need to go in and try it yourself in person. The Tyros5 is not even close to $2500+ better than the SX900 ...

Fair point but this is an arranger keyboard . I have a Korg Kronos which has loads of sounds and endless capabilities as a workstation but it can't do what an arranger does . I've read lots of discussions on forums where people have asked about using the Kronos as an arranger but the answer is always no. Even using the Karma function would take a lot of work , and I mean a lot, and this would require knowing exactly beforehand what you intend to do . There isn't even any software equivalent to an arranger that's as good as a dedicated machine. They offer great flexibility in quickly creating ideas that can be completed on board or sent to a DAW without having to use a mouse and piano roll . Its all about the music Take care

Now I have an 80mM apartment where I wouldn't be able to fit a piano. The synthesizer remains, but the good one is also the one where, with my eyes closed, I can believe that the original instrument is playing. In this, Yamaha is unattainable.
