You r lucky but not i m because i dont have it i only have e463 which is not good i our church they have sx700 so i go to church early and play that keyboard when no one is inside the church everytime i wait for sunday😭

The sx 900 has much better effects and sound engine. It has 10 more drum kits than the sx700 which are the same as the Genos. Has a video output. Much better sounds. Vocal harmonizer
Because of your recommendation i purchased psr sx600... How to download styles & voice packages to have the same like prs sx700 & 900???...pls guide me....I'm ready to purchase....thanks in advance...
we know that both keyboards share some sounds. Based on that fact, are the sounds they share the same? Or do they sound better on the psrsx900 than on the sx700? Is there a difference in Output of both keyboards Output of both keyboards even though some sounds are the same? . Thanks.
Great video Jeremy! I have been playing the 970 for 2 years in a double keyboard setup, and was considering the new SX900. But in reality, most of the 'benefits' of the 900 are non-existent for me as a 'live' performer. For instance-I would save the money and buy a TC Helicon Voice Processor if I want REALLY good quality Vocal Harmony (I use a Digitech Vocalist Live unit right now) and use a foot pedal. The VH on both my old PSR 3000 and the 970 was is really cheap sounding. When I am playing, I don't need to be pressing buttons, I want a floor mounted full unit, not one pedal. . My second board, a PA 600 from Korg, uses a touch screen, which is OK for performances, but I found the Yamaha one rather confusing, even though it is bigger. To be honest, during a live gig, my audiences wouldnt know the differences between a Mega or a Super Articulation voice. Thanks again for putting this (to me) overpriced product into a proper context. You just saved me 700 bucks, and my new Helicon unit will thank you too!!!
I could say that SX700 is stripped down too much for the voices. None of the new Genos / Tyros 5 voices are featured in the SX700 - only recycled from the older models. In facts, PSR-SX700's voices are _exactly the same_ as the old PSR-S970. This is unlike the PSR-S970 and S770 or any older models, where the difference between two models are very minimal. S970 has only 159 more sounds than the S770, while SX900 has 351 more sounds than the SX700
Having just bought the 900, I wish I had seen this video before. I might well have thought twice. However, my life experiences tell me to buy the best, because if I buy the lesser of the two, sooner or later I would want to upgrade. If I have the upgraded device already, there’s no need to be concerned about it.
Thanks, Jeremy, for this video, my doubts about SX 700 & 900 are cleared. I'm very much confused earlier which one to be purchased. As, I`m a youtuber & mostly I posted piano cover videos on RU-vid. So, I`m about to purchase sx series but not able to take decision which one to be opt for? So, may I ask you what would be your suggestion to me, which one should I purchase 700 or 900? Please recommend me! Thank you. 🙂 and this chord looper is any important functionality or not?
I don't think it's worth the additional $700 especially since the other styles can be downloaded. I played the SX 700 for the first time yesterday. Its an amazing piece of instrument. I'll definitely buy that over the SX 900. This channel helps me when buying or advising persons to buy instruments.
Thank u so much Jeremy. I've purchased SX900 just a few weeks ago. I used to have PSR S 750 for 6 years. This new SX900 is an absolute stunner. I used to play the keyboard as a kid, but gave it up in 1997 to pursue my higher studies and later, my medical career. But I never lost my love for music, so here I am, enjoying ur videos amd trying to make a comeback to what I've always loved; music ❤❤❤❤❤ Please keep up the good work. God bless u
Jeremy, can u please tell me how to turn the Touch sensitivity off in SX900? S 750 had a dedicated button, but this one doesn't. And it's kinda complicated for me 😉
Well advice first i got the SX 900 after checking it out it was too much data 70% of it I have no clue what to use it for so I went back and exchanged to SX 700
In my opinion the differences of additional functions you get in the SX900 is not worth paying 80% more for this keyboard. If it had Aftertouch (like samey priced Korg PA1000), then maybe. Assuming that sound quality of identical voices is the same on model 700 and 900. Edit: Subjective audio quality is the evaluation of reproduced sound quality by ear. Yamaha technical data only distinct voices between SX 900 and Sx 700 by a different amount (quantity). But some reviewers report that Sx 900 uses better quality sound/voices than the Sx 700. Considering that the SX 900 has also better speakers, there must be a noticeable difference in sound quality which can be important to some users (like me). Furthermore Sx 700 is only compatible to Tyros 3 while Sx 900 is compatible to Tyros 5.
You have nothing to regret. It sounds the same. You can say that the sx 700 is even a step back because there is no dance pack uploaded. Sorry for my English.
Man this was helpful. There are still things i wanna know if either the 700 or 900 can do, particularly regarding tracks and sequencing. Do you have a video on that? I'll take a look.
This Video is the beast Jeremy. I amd thinking of upgrading I have a pse s770 and if i do ill just go with the sx700 I don;t need the extra bells and whistles at least i'll get more voices and styles and a touch screen and 3 voice layers vs the 2.🥰🥰😇😇
Hi Jeremy. Still loving my PSR-s775 that you helped me on. And online for free I've downloaded hundreds of additional styles and multi-pads to a USB stick. Works great. Not a professional performer I will be saving my pennies, eventually for the SX700 or comparable Yamaha. Again, Thanks.
Awesome demo my friend you must be in your new apartment because there’s a lots of reverberation tomorrow the new update for the Genos which is 2.0 I will be doing an update video with my Genos tomorrow before I go to New Jersey Enjoy your new PSR-SX line
Jeremy See don’t worry my friend the video still good I got a lot of situations where I had to record my demos in a reverberation room which is hard but with the new SX line you always have the luxury to do everything through Keyboard so it’s so clear I do that with my Genos and I’m wearing headphones
Very cool great info, great comparison. Still shopping for a keyboard looking forward to searching through your channel learning as much as I can. Thank you! 😎 😍 🎵
SX700 = reskinned S970 with 100MB less expansion memory and no Vocal Harmony SX900 = contains ALL voices of Tyros4 and Tyros5, plus some drums and new voices of Genos
I simply don't get this "musical instrument attitude" - to count memory in the miserable amount of BYTES, while the memory of other devices is, since long ago, measured with TB !!! These keyboards are simply OVER, OVER-priced ! Musical instrument business reminds me the "speaker cable" marketing. And still - even the best keyboards are TOO MUCH hassle to use. They are extremely NOT user friendly, with tiny buttons, sometimes filled with a bunch of stupid functions. each. The design of electronic/digital MI today is at the industrial bottom, and should be profoundly REVISED.
I would encourage anyone considering one of these keyboards to look at a MODX. Even though they are synthesizers, they still have a lot of arranger features. The price is similar as well. It's the best of both worlds.
Sx700 price today is equal pa1000. Pa1000 keyboard with after touch. Hmm, and semi weight keys! And I hear sx700/900 is bad cheap keyboard qual, broke keys and more. I want instrument for long terms and good price/functions ratio for my money.
I would not buy the sx900. It’s kinda 1000 bucks more espensive. If you want to spend that difference, better go straight away for a second hand GENOS!
Why doesn't the SX Series have no style recommendation button, rather where is it located for me to use, PSR-S670 has relatively easy to use style recommender. Cheers.
Sorry for the confusion. Here's the translation: "Sorry, does the SX900's chord loop function allow each style to use the same set of chord loops, or can each style use multiple stored chord loops?"
On a strict cost benefit analysis, you are quite correct Jeremy (as usual), but it's not as simple as that. (By the way, I don't see either of these instruments as really being professional. For the pro, Korg offers much more for lower cost and the steeper learning curve is well-justified.) No, it's a case of the 'eye of the beholder'. For me, the difference in the speakers is significant as considering only the number of watts doesn't go far enough. The superbly engineered bi-amped sound system of the 900 is a major difference. Even for the home-user, the sound from the 700 may not be sufficiently fully-rounded, needing the addition (if affordable) of a pair of powered speakers. I've been astonished at the rich, full sound from the internal speakers of the 900 where nothing further is needed (from my perspective). On other differences you make very good points, and I know a large percentage of your followers have very limited budgets (for many of whom, even the 700 will be an un-atainable dream) so it's both a matter of what the user can afford, and what he/she will be happy with in the long term. This is why I stretched to the 900, and I see some of the comments reflect this thinking. A more significant cost benefit comparison comes if one compares the 900 with a Genos. The very significant price difference is much harder to justify. But for those for whom cost is no problem or can be justified on a long-term perspective, they find Genos is worth the money. However, even with the appearance of Genos 2, I suspect there are now potential Genos customers who will be very happy with a PSR-SX900 instead. (I'm looking forward to your proposed further videos on these keyboards.)
@@ThusithaThanthirige I mean if you are looking to buy a keyboard that will last for you for a long time. If you buy a low-cost Casio, for example, you might hope to replace it as soon as you can afford to. But with very expensive instruments like Genos (or even it's lower cost cousin, the SX900), you either buy it because you can easily afford it, or it may be that you can't really afford it but think it's worthwhile stretching to find the money because you expect you will not be wanting to replace it for a long time ─ it's a long-term investment.
@@bryangl1 Bryan, I read with interest your comment on the speaker system for the SX900. Jeremy mentioned it as a plus vs. the 700 and you seem to be very happy with the SX900 speakers. Frankly, IMO the sound coming from the onboard speakers on many arrangers is at best adequate and is sometimes poor. I know I can hook an arranger up to a high end set of studio monitors and probably get a very good sound but part of the value of having the arranger is to hopefully avoid having to do this to get a pleasing, encouraging sound. I have heard about the innovation in the design of the SX900 speakers and wondering what exactly you are hearing in terms of loudness and audio quality. As you might know, tSX900s are currently on back order across the USA and not available for direct audition. Your feedback would be appreciated.
SIR WHAT IS ALTERNATE OPTION OF TAB BUTTON AS IT IS NOT GIVEN IN SX700 AS GIVEN INTHE SX600 I WAS TRYING TO COPY BEATS FROM USB TO KEYBOARD I WATCHED ONE TUTORIAL BUT I DID NOT FIND TAB BUTTON SX700 WOULD U PLS GUIDEMETHANK YOU
hello jeremy, i see alot people showing video telling how to transfer style and voice into keyboard psr but how about saving or transfer the style and Voice from the keyboard into usb? any help
Dear Jermy, I hve plan it to buy Sx 900 after seen your comments i hav echanged my Mind to Sx 700. since Home use No point to go Sx 900.only few differences It was not Much Effective.Kindly do the comparision with SX 700 & KORG PA 600 as well.
I'm a SX900 user and wanted to point out some other things that you might want to consider in deciding between SX900 & SX700: SX900 has all the new Revo sampled Pop, Rock, Jazz brush kits, the new EDMKit, TrapKit, 80sPopKit, 80sR&BKit and SchlagerKit kit along with other perc instruments and also several MegaVoices (for eg, the Genos like strumming guitar sound in styles) all derived from the Genos. (Bonus: Even Yamaha Tyros 5 doesn't have them.) Along with several other stuff, these are the main stuff missing on the SX700. It makes a huge difference in sound quality even to an average musician... reason why I spent an extra to get SX900, totally worth it if you're really into the details.
Dear Brother Jeremy Greetings, Hope you all are doing alright...! I have heard that touch screen keyboards are not good. If the touch screen goes currupt, the entire keyboard is currupt and moreover it's not repairable. Can you suggest, whether I should go for Yamaha PSR S770 which is not a touch screen keyboard or Yamaha PSR SX700 which is a touch screen, the latest. Thanks.
Looking for something easy to use. Will the PSR-SX700 have the sound quality to fill a room like a Yamaha Election FS300 organ or should I spend the extra for the PSR-SX900 for better sound?
Don't worry too much about chord looper as it's really unnecessary. It's a function that records your left. Where's the fun in that? ... We buy arrangers to use our left hands in ACMP to feel the pleasure of playing. 700 bucks is too much money to spend. If you're a beginner, just record your left as a MIDI song and play it back as a backing track if you want to practice your right.
Hi Jeremy, You make a lot of sense here. When I bought my S770 I was upgrading from an earlier S710. The were so many new and improved features (However,I wasn't impressed by the speakers) I chose this over the S970, and think I made a pretty good choice. However with the new SX series, I'm not only looking at the vocoder function, but also the additional power afforded by the more powerful speakers, the additional other features, including the expanded internal memory. More room for loading in more styles, etcetera. Thanks so much for talking to us frankly, sharing "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly." God bless you my friend.
The memory of sx700 is a huge upgrade compared to the s770, so you will have plenty of memory if you choose this too. Also with the money that you will save in case you buy the sx700, you can buy a good professional pair of monitor speakers and then you will have much better sound than the sx900.
Hello Jeremy, Could you please confirm if there is any difference in the body color of the PSR-SX900 vs SX-700. I think I saw that the SX-900 has a brushed metallic color? Is that correct?
Will be ordering Sx900 soon and I’m upgrading from Korg PA600 after 5 years of playing. Enjoyed the Korg but in need of more styles and better in built voices . Hope my decision is right
Thanks so much for your reviews.. Got my SX 900 delivered today.. sounds great, so many styles when compared to Korg and no choppy sound when changing variations...I liked the key bed and speakers in Korg better.. Yet to explore the SX900. Thanks again. Don’t know if it’s there already, missing the manual bass and tempo lock buttons in Korg.
Varun A Hi Varun!!! It totally depends on the amount of time you plan to spend with your keyboard to tweak things.. I switched from Yamaha psr340 to Korg pa600 and i really liked pa600 because of the Keybed actions, depth in tones, speaker clarity etc. I used to spend more time to tweak tones earlier and Korg was perfect for that. Now my priorities have changed and I don’t wanna spend too much time tweaking and want to use more styles therefore switched to Yamaha... You will find the below differences imo. 1. Korg will have more depth in tones but needs some working to make it sound sweet. 2. Styles will be limited and the transitions between variations will be lil choppy if not triggered on beat. But creating a new style is far easier. 3. You may miss the voices and styles buttons as it will be completely in touchscreen in Korg (pa600). But i liked it because the keyboard was pretty neat and non confusing. 4. I did not find too many user developed styles outside for Korg. But for Yamaha I literally have to spend lot of time deleting the ones I don’t like.. if you use styles a lot, pls stick with Yamaha. 5. Many said Korg would be difficult to use, but I never felt it.. it’s as easy as Yamaha but you just need to get used to it. If not for styles, I would have upgraded to Korg itself cos I liked the keybed and the natural crude sounding ..
Hi Jeremy! Just wanted to say thanks for making this video comparing the two. I currently am renting a Yamaha PSR-S975 (coming from a PSR-S670) just to get a feel for how the keyboard works and how the voices and styles are. I will be upgrading from the PSR-S670 and I was going to order the PSR-SX900 but thanks to this video I may have saved a lot of money by placing an order for the PSR-SX700 instead. I'll probably will use some of the money saved to get the other voices/styles missing in this model should I feel that I might need more. Thanks again!
Hello my name is Antonio like Antonio Banderas😜. I don't understand english. Can anyone traslate this important video comparation. Maybe I dont need 900, only 700...Thank you. ¡Gracias.
Jeremy I have a question, why do you say that the Roland ex20 is bad, in specs it looks decent, plus 128 max polyphony, is it really that awful (especially compared to the Yamaha e463 and the Casio ctx3000)? I just ordered it online, now I’m concerned 🤔🤣 (I’m a beginner btw)
Hi Jeremy, I'm checking the arranger keyboards because I've read they are good for composition and music production, however after seeing the videos I'm not so sure. What would you recommend instead (for instrumental music, one guy, one computer)?
According to Yamaha, the Effects are identical: uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/arranger_workstations/psr-sx700/specs.html#product-tabs
Hi Jeremy, I’m thinking about buying the par sx700 but don’t see a ‘country’ section in the styles panel. I use country styles a lot so this concerns me, can you advise please
