My R1 is flash tuned and runs a sprint filter with full titanium akrapovic system and always ride in A-mode unless it's really cold or raining then i ride in C.

Cor, bet it sounds pretty powerful! Nice, I would too tbh once I got used to the bike; might as well have all those horses at full play!

This machine would never have existed if we didn’t have a civilisation large and powerful enough for each individual to have the slack and resources to specialise so deeply in one specific area of study: Mechanical engineering. Hooray for civilisation.

I'm surprised that bug was the only one to get splatted in your video. Your riding leaves a lot to be desired. And yes, I ride an R1.

Well that’s not very nice Mr Scheffel. I was going quick down roads I know very well, I don’t ride like that everywhere. Safe riding!

@@britboybike_adventures3813 lol I just mean I think you underestimated your closing speed to oncoming traffic a few times when overtaking. I've done it once myself, easily done on a bike like the R1. Happy (and slower) riding!

@@britboybike_adventures3813 Think im sticking with my 848 evo, more than enough power for the road. I recently had it custom mapped and its smoothed the low end out at low revs and boosted the midrange. Rides much better now..
@britboybike_adventures3813

@@PicturebikeMXphotography nice, my 848 is feeling less and less desirable the more I ride these other bikes 😂

Sport bikes like the R1, S1000, Panigale etc do 2 things so very well. Looking fantastic and going very fast in bends and down the straights. Garage queens and track tools though. Sadly they're not the type of bike I want to use on the road for all the things sports bikes are not so good at. I want a bike that does the calmer ride stuff well but can go ballistic when opportunities allow and offers some comfort to boot. The R1 isn't for me either, but the MT10 currently is.
@britboybike_adventures3813
@britboybike_adventures3813 Год назад
Totally agree with you. Don't get me wrong, amazing experience and with this R1 I was starting to get addicted to the feeling of going fast everywhere but for everything else it just doesn't cut it and there's only so many places you can bomb it. MT10 blew me away as well, what a bike!
@larryhouse3776
@larryhouse3776 Год назад
The bike for you is a Hayabusa or ZX14r.
@stevecade857
@stevecade857 Год назад
@@larryhouse3776 Probably. Trouble is I tried a Blackbird a few years ago and they're so smooth and powerful they make going fast to easy. I did have a K1200S for a while and the great thing about it was over 4-5k rpm it got angry and let you know you were in party mode but was docile and easy going below those revs. I bet the Hayabusa and zx14 are more like the Blackbird than the K12. They're heavy bikes as well which does detract from the flickable fun of something like the MT10.
@larryhouse3776
@larryhouse3776 Год назад
@stevecade857 I sold my zx14r this year. What an impressive machine. But all its fun is at speeds you'll instantly die or instantly lose your license. My next bike will definitely be something smaller and lighter again for the flickable fun of a lightweight machine. The 2024 KTM Duke 390 has really got my attention for a bike that will be a ton of fun around town.
@stevecade857
@stevecade857 Год назад
@@larryhouse3776 You might miss the power going down to a 400. You should try the Street Triple or the 890 Duke if light and flickable is your next bike focus.

How comfortable is it from a heat standpoint.. on the seat or from the engine.? im narrowing down between a ducati PV4, BMW1000RR and R1. i keep hearing the ducati is like being on a skillet but to me its the most beautiful., R1 Second.. i wish the R1 came in Red
@britboybike_adventures3813
@britboybike_adventures3813 3 месяца назад
Waoh, what a great choice to have. Tbh I didn’t really feel the heat at all on this one. I’ve got a Ducati 848 and lots of people talk about heat but unless it’s boiling outside it doesn’t really bother me. Have you tried each one yet? I think if you test ride them you’ll then know straight away which is for you. Very different engines and I would argue R1 and S1000RR are slightly more manageable and “friendly” versus V4 you’d struggle in 1st gear anywhere 😂

I read its actually bad for a powerful engine to spend too much time at low revs Is that true
@britboybike_adventures3813
@britboybike_adventures3813 11 месяцев назад
Not heard that before but a quick google search suggests that it you always keep it at low revs you may not allow engine to properly clean itself etc. Not sure if engine size adds to that dilemma or not though

At least it has proper paint job. Enough of the solid dark crap give me colorful flashy race inspired paint jobs. The 80s and 90s had great paint jobs luke this yamaha and kawasaki real green and white not new dark green. 90s zx ninjas green baby. This red and white or better yellow and black from 80s yamahas like rz350. Designers today have no style at all. All sharp.edge wedge crap with rwar tail looking luke a sliver of plastic and boring paint
