With how the bikes were accelerating, I would assume that the cbr might have been geared for more acceleration OR the R6 was stock and the cbr had a tune OR the rider of the R6 was a bit heavier of a rider. I usually find that 600cc bikes are drag limited more then hit the red line in 6th gear. The wind at 150-160 is pretty harsh.

Yamaha r6 is the fastest in the 600cc class, In fact back in 2008 the only 600cc to break the 170mph barrier was the 2008 R6., The r6 lacks bottom end power but it has killer top end,. The honda cbr is the slowest of the 600cc followed by Suzuki gsxr and ninja zx6r

Yamaha is the most reliable motorcycle manufacturer and comes in 2nd after Honda in terms of sales. But still both bikes are excellent afterall they are Japanese and unlike European bikes they work without problems.

Bad comparison. You can not compare the Yamaha R6S against the Honda 600RR. Very different bikes and engines. Next time compare the Yamaha R6R against the Honda 600RR and find out why the R at the end makes a huge difference in performance.
