In this quick video i will show you a MUCH cheaper alternative to repairing a corroded fuel pump in the 700R Raptors....Yamaha wants close to $800 Canadian for a new sending unit and if yours suffers from corroded wiring internally this fix might work for you. You can even use this method for literally free if you have a couple pieces of wire and some electrical tape laying around but i would recommend building a proper harness and replacing the pump itself as i did in this case....Total cost was about $80 or $90 total for supplies and a pump i sourced from China for $50 although a Walboro pump is available for around $140

I think this well work on the snowmachine 4stroke yamaha.. having the same problem turn key and no prime

I have 2010 Raptor 700 that been sitting for 5 months. Now it cranks but it doesn’t start. I put new plug and checked the spark is good. Noticed the pump doesn’t prime. I could not hear the pump like in your vid 3:28. Could it be fuel pump or the pump plug?

I would have to guess the pump is seized up...you'll have to take it apart like i show in the videos and check it out man...Its either the pump itself or the wiring is corroded

@@johnnyairesman8 Yes. I replaced the fuel pump. Ordered complete pump from Amazon for $80. It fired right away. Also, now I could hear the pump priming. It turned out to be seized fuel pump.

@@Eastern_SA Cool. Thanks for responding. I got an 08 that was running fine then I didn’t start it for a month and it cranks but won’t start. I can’t hear the pump when I turn the key. I haven’t checked the spark yet. But if I hit the starter and release the clutch it’ll move forward but the engine won’t start. I’m guessing it’s the pump does it sound like that is the most reasonable guess?

@@johnnyairesman8 start by checking the fuses until you end at the pump. If the pump still doesn’t prime. Then, it’s a suspect.

Hey nice video but my fuel tank does make the noise but what it does is it doesn’t stay on any recommendation?

Do you mean it makes the noise when you first turn the key but then stops after a few seconds? If so that is normal because it will only hum for a few seconds untill it primes up pressure and wont start again untill you fire up the bike

@@Videocipher checked the plug, 2 of the 3 wires (not including ground) have power running through them when key is in on position though. Thanks in advance
