I tried this on my RX A 2010 and it worked! Step 1: Plug a ethernet-cable into backside of your Yamaha receiver. Step 2: Follow the steps in the video. Easy. Done! (Thank you cable guy!)

I tried updating my Yamaha ex v385 receiver like you showed and it’s stuck on update . . . USB. I pressed the straight button to advance it to update network and it doesn’t advance. Help? Thanks

What if it says “File not Ready” After you start the update?

Thanks for the video. I have a question, hopefully you can answer. For some odd reason I can't AirPlay music from any of my devices. Restarted all my devices including the router. Any suggestions. Doing an update as I type this. Maybe that solves my issue.

Hi, I have model HTR-4071 , in stereo the music plays without bass. I can't set it up. But in a movie where the effects are a blast, for example, it already has bass. Only when I play music so no bass. Don't know what to do?

I have aventage rx 840 updated to firmware 1.77 update said successful but so far after update nothing works the app doesn't work anymore and reciever can no longer be found by any devices via wifi anyone else having this problem

Great Video! - Updated my RX-V775 and also downloaded the iPhone App from Yamaha to control the Receiver. - Works Great! I was using the Receiver as a hub for all of my devices with their various HDMI connections tho the Receiver. I then had the HDMI Out going to my 73inch Mitsubishi TV, which I was able to select fro viewing by using the "Input" button to switch between the Receiver or the TV antenna. After the update, the TV will no longer switch to the Receiver and wants me to plug the HDMI devices into the TV instead. Any ideas on what was updated that would change this ability?

I was just about to rage quit when I found this video and remembered to change it from USB to network.

I follow all the steps which are great. However when I get to where it says update usb and I’m to press the straight button, it will not display update network? Just update usb.

I know this video is 5 years old, I'm having issue with NFL Game Pass (again) have tried just about everything anyway thought to try updating Receiver which I haven't done for a few years. Anyway followed these instructions and receiver went through the process and guess what receiver says it's up to date. Appears to me they don't have updates for my receiver anymore... RX-V675 I can't find what "version" it's on either where do you find it? EDIT: found it Firmware version 1.93...but still NO NFL Game Pass :(

I kept my yamaha natural sound av receiver RX-V2079 in its box for 3 years because we didn’t need it and it kelps saying version error I try to fix it like you said but it says not found please help

I have a RX-A3040. Before I could initiate the advance menu, I needed to turn off Zone 2,3,4 and leave the Zone on Zone Control. Just press the Zone buttons to turn on/off. If I had Zone 2,3,4 showing on the Yamaha LCD Display, holding the Straight button and pressing Power button did nothing. Turning the Zone 2,3,4 off worked just like in your video.

I have updated through Network and got a "Update Success" message. After powering it Off Standby Light went of Off as well and the unit is dead now, not responding to any buttons and is not power on as well. Any suggesstions?

Just bought pre-owned. 2 concerns. 1) 'Version Error' each time I power up the receiver. 2) When I raise up the volume, the Max Volume number goes up only 'from -15.5 to Volume Max.' My speakers are not loud enough. Even though I reached the Maximum Volume already. The 'Trim' volumes are already on Max. On 'Volume Max' screen, it says -15db... Help please.

Hi, the update worked fine on my RX A 660 but since then I have no video output. the HDMI cable is plugged in, I just tested it on a computer and it is not faulty nor is the TV. I have a red "HDMI" on the AVR screen when I select an HDMI input (maybe this is normal but I don't remember). I mean no output at all. No output of my inputs and also no display of AVR options, music relevant info, etc. I'm a bit annoyed...

How do you do the update if your receiver is not connected to the internet?

My firmware update went just as shown here and after about 8 minutes it was finished but instead of update complete I have "Error 100" on my screen and I can not find any information from Yamaha or anyone as to what that means. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Can't seem to update... I am on 1.7 and there appears to be a new firmware available.... Have downloaded it onto a stick, also tried network update..... I just get veryfying for about 15mins... Then NOT FOUND on both methods? What am I doing wrong?

My YamaMess is about 30 feet from the modem...the idea of disconnecting the 20 cables and bring it to my home office to connect is not a solution....there is NO usb on my unit.
