Baxter and Jonathan get their hands on on the Revstar from Yamaha. The Standard and the Professional models are in the hands of the boys and they are torn on what one to get. Yamaha’s Revstar Standard RSS02T is an update of the original Revstar series of guitars, refined to offer improved comfort and even more striking visuals! This maple-topped double-cut’s lightweight chambered mahogany body is loaded with two rich and warm sounding VP5 pickups that deliver classic P-90 tones - from clean jazz textures on the neck pickup to wild overdriven leads on the bridge. The neck is comprised of carbon-reinforced mahogany so that it will stay straight and true in even the most challenging of environments. What’s more, Yamaha has equipped this Revstar with their proprietary “focus” switch that shifts your tone’s resonant frequency and supercharges your pickup’s power. If you’re looking for a high-performance, no-nonsense axe with explosive tones, rock-solid playability, and sleek modern aesthetics, the RSS02T sets the standard.

I have 2 Revstar pros. A p90 and humbucker versions. They are my favorite guitars hands down. I recently purchased the Pacifica pro and will be selling my strat. I’m officially a Yamaha fanboy. Amazing guitars.

@@ColinLee47 Fellow fanboy. I’ve got the Pro P90 too and now I think I’m on a quest to have a top line Yamaha of every main type of guitar like you…I might do an SG1802 or older SG instead of a Revstar with humbuckers for an HH guitar though. Who am I kidding I will probably end up with both haha

I've owned several Yamahas over the years: motorcycles and guitars. Had a Yamaha 12 string acoustic back in the late '70s. Sold it to a friend of mine in the mid '80s. He still has it and absolutely will not sell it back to me.

Yamaha has made fine instruments since I was a Kid and I was born in 1955, many of their Woodwind & Brass instruments are known as some of the Finest, but for some Reason we associate Yamaha more with a Good Motorcycle then a Great Guitar. I love the P90's. My Slash Victoria should arrive today at Casino

I had the Standard RSS02t which I bought when it was released. I like it so much I bought the entry level Element RSE20 for $500. I liked the $500 Element so much that I sold the $800 Standard and bought a Gator Transit gig bag. I love that Element. It is 7lbs 2 onces, well balanced, and the fretboard was rolled. The ability for Indonesian factories to produce an end product that's competitive has never been the issue... The way they get there is the issue.... Indonesia is the #1 country in the world for ocean pollution... Minimum Wage in Indonesia also comes out to less than $1 an hour.... you can take a wild guess at $1 an hour what the healthcare and benefits are like along with OSHA standards. I think its high time we as an industry raised the bar.

That's great and I agree, but companies seeking profit over most anything else created the world of Walmart and Amazon which has conditioned people to want things to be cheap. Cort has been called out for stuff before, but they're still the number one manufacturer of guitars in the world. Not sure how it is now.
@MayorMcCheese2000
@MayorMcCheese2000 Месяц назад
@Scott__C we've all allowed this to happen, and now shops like Casino who need to serve the needs of all their clients big and small, don't really have a choice for affordable guitars outside of these kind of options. You're spot on that we've created this culture spearheaded by Walmart and Amazon, but even those guys see the demand for change and have tried to involve smaller businesses like handmade goods and local produce respectively. I think shops like Casino would buy more ethically made options if they were available, but their handcuffed by what's offered, and it's their responsibility to care for their customers which they couldn't be doing better.... it's time manufacturers started to care for their customers like Casino in the same way.
@Scott__C
@Scott__C Месяц назад
@@MayorMcCheese2000 I agree. The issue on Amazon is kind of not knowing who you're buying from and sometimes they're slow shipping, so that creates some frustrations too. If you've basically told customers for over a decade you can get it there in a day, then to wait for almost two weeks makes you think the order got lost somewhere.
@MayorMcCheese2000
@MayorMcCheese2000 Месяц назад
@Scott__C the customers shouldn't have this level of responsibility. You're spot on, it's almost impossible to know where you're buying from and that needs to change.

@theforgedone
@theforgedone 9 дней назад
What did you do to yours?
@andrewbecker3700
@andrewbecker3700 9 дней назад
@@theforgedone I bought it specifically to mod, with parts I already had. That included Gotoh magnum keystone locking tuners, Seymour Duncan Distortion,Schaller straplocks, 1 volume and 1 push/pull tone potentiometer. Ended up buying a Seymour Duncan '59/Custom hybrid for the neck position, and got the Oak Grigsby switch, Pure Tone jack, orangedrop tone capacitor, and treble bleed curcuit from Sweetwater when I bought the guitar. Like I said, it was a planned build from the beginning. It's black, and referred to as the "DEATHSTAR"! So my only real added expense for the build was that Hybrid pickup. The $60 bucks in misc. parts, I had Sweetwater cover as my discount off the Revstar retail price. So I paid full price for the guitar($499) but got the $60 bucks in parts free. The guitar is as good as most costing $1500 or under. It has no real faults now. I may upgrade the bridge and tailpiece?
@ChidOki
@ChidOki 7 дней назад
Did you modify it by putting in Stainless Steel frets? Because that is one of the key features that sets the Revstar Standard and Pro apart. For that reason alone, it's hard for me to believe any modified Element could be "good or better than" a Standard or Pro unless SS frets were installed.
@andrewbecker3700
@andrewbecker3700 7 дней назад
@@ChidOki Oh yeah, for sure. No good songs could possibly be written or performed without stainless steel frets. And the 3 way blade switch too. Totally unacceptable for any pro level guitarists. What about the carbon fiber reinforcement rods? Those are key components in any "real" guitar. Those specs are critical to success. Right? Come on man. Get a grip.
@ChidOki
@ChidOki 6 дней назад
@@andrewbecker3700 How is the quality of music that can be written on an instrument related at all to how good the instrument is…? Like…what? Haha and I’m not going to argue about a 3-way vs 5-way switch, that’s completely subjective. Of course 5-way is not better for anyone who doesn’t like or need the 2 in between sounds. It’s a matter of preference, not worse or better. I pointed out a key difference of a spec that is, with general consensus in the guitar community, accepted as better because it is a material that is objectively stronger and longer lasting, and you respond with two things that are completely subjective and irrelevant to whether a guitar is better or not, one of which has nothing to do with the actual guitar itself. You make a bold take and then avoid two questions about it. You won’t share what mods you did, or whether one of them was SS frets (sounds like no, but you’re still avoiding answering directly). I’m really glad you love your Element, that’s fine. I know they’re made super well. Nothing wrong with that. If you’re going to share a hot take that a lower level modded model is just as good or better the ones above it, explain why and back it up, don’t avoid conversation about it, which you’re sort of asking for on, you know, a comments and discussion section….
