Guys anyone knows whether the sample has a time limit (like 16s) when imported from computer? Just want to try seqtrak as a portable synth and sample player for live performance …still hesitating
Why the drum tracks have fixed different midi channels? So, lets say i want to use the seqtrack as a drum module sequenced from another midi sequencer i would need say 4 or more midi channels (or tracks( just for use a full seqtrack drumkit? I think the individual drum track midi channel should be user definable.
This looks very cool. There are so many questions that I hope Yamaha will answer over time. One item that is implied by the section here on the project/sound manager is that it is possible to load one's own samples into the drum track sounds. However, there is no info regarding sample parameters such as length, sample rate, bit depth, etc. I downloaded and looked in the PDF manual for this as well but could not find anything.
Is it possible to get the visualizer fullscreen without any UI overlay in a live situation? Not using the recording feature, just showing the visuals on their own during playback. I have the iphone app while I wait for my seqtrak to arrive and I can’t find any way to just show the visuals full screen without a UI overlay
That's what the plugin would solve. You could work on the device in standalone mode, connect it to the plugin, get everything transferred/sync'ed and have multiple outputs within a DAW. Or you could also work live within a DAW, while everything is sync'ed, the device could work as a MIDI controller for the plugin. Otherwise, I don't think Seqtrak brings anything new to the table, besides cool design..
On ableton, when I use it through external instrument for some reason my bpm goes at double time when I use it on clock, then when I disconnect it, it snaps back to a half time kinda result. I tried making garage, accidentally made rnb
when you export videos the music is linked ? but one disappointment is you can't export videos on ios or android please add this so we can use ipads etc to make videos that's literally one of its best selling points
How do you export music from device? Please don’t tell me you can’t only export when connected to a computer, kind of defeats the purpose of mobile ideastation.
I can do triplets just with the drums (using substep) but not with synths. The opposite, I can’t play a dotted quarter note with drums but I can do it with synths, using the step length. I’m finding some rhythm limitations in the Seqtrak and I don’t like it. Yamaha, take note.
It doesn't seem like you can with the official app or the physical controls, unless I'm missing something. However, Yamaha have documented the synth engine's MIDI data format, and it seems like there are tons of parameters for building sounds that could be used by a third-party app, if someone makes one. Until that happens though, you're limited to the basic sampler features for making your own sounds.
Windows version will install on windows 7 but Seqtrak has no windows 7 drivers, it would be great if it would work in windows 7, even if just for loading samples and backing up.
@@zzrwood I don’t expect it, but it would be great for people who still use w7 - I have multiple computers from XP to w11 still in regular use. My specific request for w7 was due to the fact that the software runs on it, but the driver for Seqtrak is not w7 compatible, that’s all. As you probably know w7 and w10 both use the NT platform so are not that different at their core, hence the editor working.
Midi clock sync doesnt work. Tried it with usb and midi cable. it can send a clock signal but doesn't recieve it. Tried it with different hardware and also Ableton Live. Useless device!
Guys the UI / workflow is terrible: how is it possible that you have to use an external app to manage chords and arps on a device that already has a ridiculously small "keyboard"?
I’ve had mine for almost a month now and chord editing is pretty chill, on the seqtrack itself. Can adjust microtiming for each note programmed into that single step, can’t do that on my digitakt! I definitely had to take a lot of notes to learn how to navigate it but it was worth it, for the dawless jams
One thing I would have rather seen is the ability to bring in your own drums to the drum parts. I know about the samples thing but that’s only 7 samples.
