Thanks Jeromy. Waited for the video so I didn't do something stupid. Works great!! Now I cam trust the side stand angle again.

My 2023 T7 had an absurd amount of red thread lock on those 10mm allen bolts. Other than fighting with those the installation was a breeze, thank you!

Hmmm, we haven't encountered red thread locker before - but glad you're liking the product!

Good idea to show them how to adjust it on the fly
@AltRiderLLC
@AltRiderLLC 8 месяцев назад
We'll be sure to show that in the next video! But it's pretty simple, lean your bike up against a tree or wall and then you can easily make the adjustments

really awesome. Cant wait to get one for Africa Twin. Propably will be universal between all models but just in case im getting a Adventure Sport DXC ES. Africa Twins def need that sidestand. The OEM one is def too short

Ya, it will fit all the different models, its available for preorder - for both the CRF1100 & CRF1000!

@@AltRiderLLC just back ordered. I was wondering about the design though. Isn't it better if the foot is slightly textured for a little grip?
@AltRiderLLC
@AltRiderLLC Год назад
You'll notice that every side stand out there has a flat bottom, and if it doesn't any high points will be scratched and worn off fairly quickly. So, long term a texture won't really add value. We do however, add a convex bottom and that will ensure a good contact patch with virtually any shaped ground.

I purchased a lowered 2005 Yamaha Royal Star. it has the original kickstand so i have to be very careful where i park it. DO you offer these adjustable kickstands for this style of cruiser bike? Thanks.

Thanks for your interest! We focus on ADV and dirt bike motorcycles, so we don't have any parts that would fit your Royal Star

How much lean (degrees from vertical) should be targeted when on the side stand?
@AltRiderLLC
@AltRiderLLC 11 месяцев назад
It's really about feel, and you can easily adjust the stand up and down to what feels best for you. And you may want to make adjustments as you make alterations (tires, luggage, etc.) that alter the ride height. With all that said, we've found 12-14 degrees of lean tends to feel best

I was careful and still snapped the 10mm bolt. Clearly not careful enough. Any tips for removing it? The switch seems reasonably secure without it, what’s it needed for?
@AltRiderLLC
@AltRiderLLC Год назад
Dang, that sucks! We totally get it, we broke one early on in the development days. Let me reach out to the engineers and find out what they did but I suspect it will require an easy out. The switch is the safety measure so you cannot have the engine running, with it in gear and the kickstand down (if you drive with the kick stand down that would be dangerous). It's common to disable this, but you just need to be aware of it.
@Kingsmanly
@Kingsmanly Год назад
@@AltRiderLLC yeah I was thinking I could just remove the switch entirely, but then wasn’t sure if the bolt was needed for anything else. It seems to hold in position without the bolt which is weird. If removing it I guess I’d need to remove the stand and then tap it and remove the broken bolt- let me know if the engineers have any great tips, or even know what replacement bolt would be needed.
@AltRiderLLC
@AltRiderLLC Год назад
Ya, your best bet is going to be an easy out, just be careful because the bolt is steel and the Adjustable Side Stand is aluminum (so it will be easy to damage the threads). Its a specialty bolt, so you'll have to get it direct from Yamaha 😕
@Kingsmanly
@Kingsmanly Год назад
@@AltRiderLLC I might just ditch the switch all together and bypass it. Don’t think the bolt does anything other than hold the switch in place. But yeah, warning to others, be really careful with this bolt. It barely need snugging up

The 10mm bolts had red locktite on them from factory and i stripped out the one on the right. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Ahh - that's super annoying, sorry that happened! I think I know what part you're talking about, but since I'm not certain I don't want to give a suggestion that may not be applicable. Give us a call or email and we should be able to get you a suggestion to get you set up.

Thank you. I tried to Chamfer the end of the bolt hoping that would work, but no dice. I bought a helicoil kit that arrived last night that I'm going to do today - I am confident that will work and I'll get it all put back together and get the kickstand on. It's been an entire process, but the lowering links are on, the side stand will be on, and now I just gotta hope that the aftermarket Acerbis tank I put on will clear the fork tube adjustments well so I can slide those up, too. I'm going to be pretty annoyed if there is a block..@@AltRiderLLC

Alright update - I finally got it all together. I had to do some rethreading of those holes along with threadlocker. The side stand is on and the front forks were dropped 22mm. I'm excited to test it out in a few days! The differnece is amazing. Before, with boots, I could flat foot on one side if I leaned the bike way over. Now I'm at the balls of both feet with slippers on, so boots should be even better @@AltRiderLLC
