Love my Super T! I went through 8 bikes in a few years, kept looking for the one bike that suited me best, and in the process I sold my first Super Tenere and always regretted it... finally got another one and couldn't be happier!
Thanks for the good review and comparison. I own both of them. T12 for long rides with the best sozia of the world and the huge amount of luggage she takes.... T7 for commuting, fast rides on really twisted roads and of course rides with a high proportion of technical off road. I used to change my bikes almost every year as I was aways missing something. Now I'm very happy with Elephant and Gazelle.
Great comparo. I am torn between these two bikes at the moment. I am leaning towards a used Super Tenere as it can be had cheaper than the T7 and I have a WR250R for offroad.
I just sold my ZZR cause of old back issues. I have XT600e and I'm going to keep it as it's nice on trails, but is quite horrible tbh on paved roads on +90kmh speeds especially. I'm now looking into older Super T or new T7. I was thinking that T7 might be sufficient and good allrounder, but then again would T7 offer much more than more power on trails as it seems to be even heavier than +20 year old XT to my surprise. I think I'm leaning now more on big XT as I'd just like to have nice commuter (highway) and good asphalt and gravel road muncher with good ergonomics 🤔
Yes you can, assume T7 we discuss. This is OEM accessory. Bit practically I see usage as follows 1/ Top case only - street use 2/ Side cases only - long trips with offroad use 3/ Both top+ side- only travelling with pillion and her lagguage :D:D (on short distances )
Good information, thank you! What is your preference? I don't plan on going off road too and I'm not carrying a pillion. I love them both but how do I choose?!
