Factory demo song for the Yamaha TG100 synthesizer recorded direct with no additional effects.
The TG100 is a General MIDI tone generator based on 12-bit sample playback. Its limited sample ROM is noticeably lo-fi, and it had trouble competing against other 16-bit GM ROMpler modules of the era like the Roland SC-55. It was succeeded by the Yamaha TG300 and then the Yamaha MU80. While it is inexpensive on the used market, the TG100 is still somewhat popular for retro gaming setups.

Still love my TG100 after over 20yrs of constant use, recently revived to play in a covers band. lovely useable sounds - i particularly like the E piano (rhodes-like) and everything else is tolerable to very nice. it's small, practical, easy to use with a synth/kbd. love mine and would't part

If you like the TG100 then maybe you should check out the Roland Sound Canvas units. Some of the models like the SC-88VL have the same tiny form factor and have a lot of really great, really easy to use sounds. I did video reviews on two of the SC models and plan to tackle the original model, the SC-55, sometime :)

This sounds so much better than any of the "MU" modules I've heard. I owned an MU100, and it sounded thin and raspy to me. I want a TG300!!!!

demofactory I have both this one and the TG300. It’s even better. I haven’t used either one of them in years, though; my setup’s pretty limited right now. But having seen this, think I might dust them off and fire them up tonight...

fun fact: the sound chip on this keyboard was later used on the sega saturn.
