YAMAHA TG77 - (TEST SOUNDS)  

The AWM+FM sounds very strong, the actual Montage have evolved that concept to very hight levels. I had a SY77 in the 1991 and I remember the great sensation of solid instrument and gorgeous sound...

For me, the ‘77 (owned from 92-2002) was like a super DX7 & an M1 in one box, with the ability to use pcm waves in FM. A great synth, hard to better.

I just got a Yamaha sy99. Im happy i can layer dx7 sounds with the sy99.. both are heavy but its ok.

I still own my SY77, I completed its sound collection from the internet sources, so I have 25000 sounds for it, some very advanced with new virtual techonology of creating tones for that synth. It produces amazing fat fingered basses, beautiful e. pianos and plenty of astonishing pads. Very powerful help in my recording sessions...

Just bought a SY-77 and got it today. The 2 lowest kyes are smashed up and the next to highest is also effed up, and parts of the back plate is missing, but otherwise should be good. Need to test it tomorrow after work. Also have a DX7 mk 2.

The electric grand piano sounds at 3:50 and 4:16 are sounds I have been combing demonstrations of the SY/TG series for several days trying to find. You may not know if they(or one like them) would be in the TG-33, but I wouldn’t mind receiving a confirmation that it is.

I looked at the specs of every FM synth out there (I know that’s ideal for what I want to do. At least most of it) and outside softsynths (eeeeh nah. I have enough hardware that it’s just not a good idea.) this is top of the heap. But the presets aren’t doing it for me. I’ll be digging through stuff online and spending days making single patches. 😂 Editing goes SO DEEP. Subtractive is simple as all get out, but it just isn’t what I need! I need thicker, more layered versions of FM-based video game soundtrack tones. These presets sound great, but they sound like soft rock hits. I like soft rock. I’m making weird metal.
