In this video I modify a Yamaha YL1 twin jet 100 rear sprocket to fit on the Yamaha Trailmaster 100 YL2C. I trim off some in the Jet lathe, and then drill all the required holes on the Bridgeport milling machine. Then fabricate 4 spacers and finally trial fit it to the bike. This bike had a 37 tooth high gear sprocket and I change it to a 39 tooth.

They are indeed cool bikes, might have a lead on a Campus 60 Yamaha. We'll see how much he wants for it. Had one when I was a kid.

When you change to the big sprocket does the chain then run at an angle? I remember on my Bridgestone 90 Trail you had to take four bolts out, rotate the big sprocket 90 degrees, slide the pins through some larger holes and reinstall the bolts. The dished part of the big sprocket fit over the small one and that would keep the teeth in alignment. But different make different way I guess.

Hey Bud, your guess is as good as mine. I don't have a book for this, so I am not sure. But I think you run as I have it in the video for the small sprocket. Then to run the large sprocket you will turn the large sprocket over and slide the small one onto the pins on the large one, for storage so to speak. I am sure that you have to move them like this, or the chain angle would be too great to stay on the sprockets. Maybe some folks that are in the know will chime in on your post. Thanks Bud.
