Was a time when my dirt and street bikes were 2 stroke, as was my lawnmower and boat motors, now I'm down to just a chainsaw 😳 I always loved how 2 strokes love to work hard and hate just loathing around had a patch on my motorcycle jacket that read Yamaha, catch me if you can ! This TZ I believe is why that patch was available 😁
I seen one of those stored upstairs in a bike shop 40 plus years ago in Toronto was told it was one of the most insane bikes ever made! In-line 2 stroke.
The Kawi H2, Yamaha TZ, and the Suzuki Gamma RG were some of the coolest bikes to me when I was a kid. Super bike racing was insane when they rode 2 strokes.
It's a minor technicality but the term Superbike came along a little later with the Big Bore four strokes that were based on production bikes. Factory 2-stroke GP bikes were never called super bikes.
@@LordSamuelJ The Z1 900 and later KZ1000 were much better all around bikes than the H2 750 and were very stout when heavily modified for roadracing. Kawi even made the H2 a little slower when the Z1 came out. The H2 had a flexy frame and handled like crap - the engine was wide and they wiggled, like it wanted to spit you off. That made it even more exciting, but not in a good way. The lighter tricked-out Yam RDs ruled the backroads in the 70's.
@@LordSamuelJ Thanks for correction., I had a minor brain fart...lol, I was thinking they were KZ followed by H1 or H2 after engine size. All these bikes were before my time but when I was a kid in late 80s/early 90s the 2 strokes were my favorite street bikes at the bike shows my Dad would take me to.
Oh man!!! I wanna ride it too!!! Love love love that sound!!! Although, the rider's loose pantleg near the spinning clutch (not front sprocket 😀) gave me some anxiety. 😀
A beautifully original early TZ, right down to the single pot calipers, “skinny boy” chambers and open stingers! And the carburetion/synching on that thing is perfect! Congrats to the team. Gives me goosebumps. What a gem!
Back in the two-stroke street bike days I wore Yamaha underwear and the wife wore Kenny Roberts labeled shorty shorts... After hearing this TZ she's going to wonder why I'm chasing her around the table..😂.🙂.Great video.. Thank you !!!
The TZ750 was a racebike that privateers could buy. And they were beasts that required serious skill and balls to race at their potential. Roberts raced the tricker and faster precurser 750 and 500cc factory bikes like the OW31 that were tuned by the great Kel Carruthers - a legit roadrace champ himself.
Beast! Nothing like the rush of a 2 stroke and especially a TZ750!!! Eats up tarmac like no other bike...here and GONE in a second! And the sound!!!!!!
I love the sound, i hope i was like 23 to drive but i gotta wait 10 years to 23 years but i wanna ride one 🔥 Edit: the 2 stroke yamaha bike will never die!!!
Ah yes now that's a real man's road bike lol so much crispy power I can't imagine actually being able to take one out on the road I'd be smiling like the biggest idiot on Earth probably Wheelieing every foot of the way
Back in the eighties, armed with my heavily modified GT750 water bottle…… used to meet at the famous “High Beech” Epping, England 🇬🇧 with a fella called Rob Green, and his barely legal TZ750 road bike…… great days, great music and aroma…… ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Looks like the exhaust smoke is dual coming out by where the rear wheel is installed, I recall EUCLID Off Highway Trucks had the exhaust smoke to come out of the lower dump body on both sides, it could turn a person GREEN.
They always sound like shit idling, you can't tell what kind of cylinder configuration or firing order it is until, it gets into its rpm range, then it sounds like God's gift to earth.
Nice one guys... Those TeeZee 750’s were right beasts.. I used to watch them at classic bike racing meets when I lived in South Africa in the late 90’s and early 00's. The grid was packed with all those old school and beautiful machines.... Old Honda CB's of all kinds, Ducati Supersports in 900 and 750 variants, Kawa Z1-900's and Z1000's and then these 2-stroke demons with their adversary the Suzuki GT750...The TeeZee's always battled it out with the Suzuki GT750's. The racing was entertaining and the sound ringing out around the track was unforgettable... When I think of this moment I can still smell the 2-stroke oil... Man, I miss that... Your videos always make me happy and bring immense joy to me. Thank you as always guys... Kaplan you guys kick ass ..👍🏍️
