the middle gear is lubed by engine however the housing will trap oil even when you drain crankcase....so they have the one screw bored right into oil at 6 oclock.
My clutch went out during a ride (lost all preasure and fluid was full and clean) so I replaced the friction plates (which definitely needed to be done) and then master cylinder and rebuilt the slave cylinder (because i still had the problem) but now I have too much preasure so the lever Is stiff and can't flex to the grip when pulled...what did I do wrong...I beleive the issue is with the slave cylinder rebuild. Please help
You could have several problems here. I have never had to replace clutch plates on a venture, but a v max yes. How many miles on your bike? After you replaced the clutch plates could you squeeze the clutch lever? This issue you have with there being too much pressure at the lever I have seen in many automotive cases and once or twice in bikes. It is usually a collapsed brake line. The inner part of the rubber delaminates and swells up and acts like a one way valve. It could be that you didn't rebuild the master properly, but I have never seen that issue. If the clutch plates are not assembled properly you could have one of them hanging up or the clutch push rod jammed.
@MOAB originally the clutch rod was jammed and we fixed that but still having the issue thats why i went to the slave thinking it needed a rebuild and was seized up but it still did it and then moved on to master and syill does it...the master I replaced the whole thing instead of a rebuild on it because I had a brand new one in my storage. It has about 35k miles on it I got it at 29k...so if it's the line do I just replace the line and that will tell me if it's that or the slave then?
@MOAB I'm not sure it's the line though cause fluid makes it to the bleeder valve no problem it seems like I did something wrong on the slave cause on another video the guy said if you Crack the bleeder and fluid jumps out that means line is fine but slave is where the issue is but hydrolics are all knew to me so 🤷
