Sara Dee test rides a second-hand Yamaha Verago, and gives her opinion on wether or not it's a good bike for female riders, as well as going through some of it's pro's and con's.
Got a very clean 2003 Virago. Comfortable ride, keeps up with traffic in town, but windy on motorway/freeway. No fuel gauge is a pain but it does have a reserve fuel tank. Not fuel injected so can be thirsty in town riding (for a 535cc). Starts without choke most days and is reliable/well built. Shaft drive means no messy or slacking of a chain. Generally happy with my Yamaha Viagra.
Wow the weather really sucks in the UK. Every time I see footage it looks like that. Bleak, wet, cold, and dank. It seems there is a black cloud over the UK at all times. Fuckin hell. I have family there but I will never go.
Because this bike is beautiful, not too heavy, and the seat is not too high (the average woman tends to be less tall than most men, although there can be some exceptions of course). And perhaps because there may be less women than men that are addicted to speeding ; so the 45 HP of the engine may be enough for most of them.
