Yamaha WR250R 4000 Mile Maintenance Interval 

Great work. Used it to learn the bikes mechanical set up. Just got a 2nd hand WR250R so will give it a thorough going over. Keep the videos going.

You didn't mention it, but following the oil change, there's a bleed bolt you are supposed to loosen, from the manual: After changing the engine oil, makesure to check the oil pressure as described below. Loosen the bleed bolt (back of the cylinder head on the left side). Start the engine and keep itidling until oil flows out. If no oilcomes out after one minute, turn the engine off immediately so it will not seize. If this occurs, have a Yamaha dealer repair the vehicle . After checking the oil pressure, tighten the bleed bolt to the specified torque. 10 Nm (1.0 m·kgf, 7.2 ft·lbf

You’re very meticulous, I commend you for that. Your attention to the details might end up being what keeps you alive. Good work! I would however recommend you get rid of the master link on the chain and do a proper job there.

Nice bike I really wanted to get one, went to my local Yam dealer who said the couldn’t sell me new one as Yam had them as a road dealer only, ( 3 off road second hand for sale in showroom ) Dealer couldn’t tell me where the nearest Yam off road dealer is ...... wrote to Yam customer services to say wanted a new bike and where to go to get one ......a week later no reply from Yamaha UK It’s pretty certain I wont be adding a Yamaha if any kind to my garage any time soon .......good video on maintenance

Great video, I would have changed the plug, recommend Amsoil Yamaha glue is garbage oil great for break in that's it, also started when I unplug electrical plug I use Super Lube Silicone dielectric grease now that should be done from the factory they are lazy and cheap. Also would have done fluid flush, love the Honda Blue from car dealer bike runs way cooler. When you do your brake fluid EBC brake pads if you have funds up grade the break line and completely tear down the brakes and do a full cleaning. Agree with the one comment fix your chain I use kerosene to clean my chain wash, dry and lube with chain wax let sit over night, so you could have cleaned the bike. You are like me every thing should be right a lot of above is extra work but will pay off in long run. 😉

Thanks for the video! I'm about to do a service on mine. Any particular reason for 10W-40? I see that it's a popular choice online but the service manual recommends 10W-30 or 20W-40.
