In this episode, I will change the timing chain & adjust the valve clearance.
Even that it is still November, I already started the preparation for my Magadan trip. I have to eliminate all possible problems. I believe that this will help me to have a trouble-free trip. Of course, there is no way to predict everything but at least I can try. Everything you do before the trip will help you during the trip!

Quality mechanic. Quality machine, proved beyond all doubts. A good way to replace the gasket is:- 1.Cut the heads off 3 or 4 old alien bolts and cut a slot in it. 2. Screw them in evenly spaced around the engine case, leaving some bolt holes free. 3. Put the gasket on over the cut off bolts, which will now hold the gasket in place. Put the engine cover back on, going over the cut off bolt heads this is no problem. Put the proper bolts in the holed you left free. Unwind the cut off bolts using a screwdriver in the slot you cut. Put in the rest of the bolts 10NM! Loving this series on stripping bike. Happy travels

Another great maintenance/preparation video Pavlin (with more excellent hammer work ! - you would have struggled to remove that stator without one..) - As you say, your engine internals are in very good condition for 160 thousand KMs, partly because of Yamaha quality but mainly because of regular oil changes and most importantly LOW REVS WHEN RIDING ! - My father was a professional mechanic and a life-long motorcyclist. One of the first things he ever taught me about engines was 'The more you rev it, the faster it wears out'.. Looking forward to the next video and I wish you the very best of luck for the Magadan trip, I will definitely be watching !..

I'm guessing a welding face mask and grinding goggles are not required in Poland! Never take a chance with your eyes, without them you cant ride, not even a camel.
